Updating driver prevents blu ray from working (VGA error)

When I download the latest driver from the this website it prevents the blu ray on my laptop from working. The error message I get is: VGA is unavailable. The hp website has drivers that have this VGA with their driver download "NVIDIA NB8E-GT VGA Driver" but the driver update is quite old (01-2008). Any ideas?

For the blu-ray to work, the driver needs to be whql signed, so you either need to use a driver that supports your card natively (without using the modded inf) or use a workaround (some have been discussed on this forum - search around a bit)
