Guest Marco
Hello everyone, i recently installed a Radeon X 700 into my Laptop and as soon as I install the video driver I get a Memory Error and the system freezes, so I can only use the standard Windows XP driver. Is there a way to deactivate say 50% of the VRAM on the card to see if the rest works? My card has 128 MB, maybe I can flash the Bios somehow, so it uses only 64 that are hopefully working fine. I also get permanent stripes in the picture right from the start, as soon as I switch on the Laptop, so there is definitely something wrong with the card, it's nothing else and it's not the driver. Thanks for any help.
Michael Marley
If the new card is still under warranty, I would recommend getting it replaced. It is quite obviously defective.
