Hi,

My problem is as followes.

I have a Fulitsu Amilo A1667G and the GFX card is ATI X700. As soon as I switch ON the screen fills with vertical lines of various digits. When Windows loads it ends up with 4 vertical bands equally spaced with normal display on the screen. The colour of these bands is CYAN when the backround is white and RED when the background is Black..

The Laptop works as per normal. Very rarely it loads perfectly without distortion but this only lasts for about a minute.

I have reloaded WIN XP but the problem is still the same. So my conclusion is that the GFX card is faulty.

So I bought from ebay an identical laptop that had a broken screen and then used the X700 from that in my original Laptop. The results are exactly the same.

It will not allow me to load any ATI drivers and on the SYSTEM Hardware shows yellow markings on VGA driver and SYSTEM INTERRUPT CONTROLLER.

So I had a faulty ATI X700 in my first laptop. AM I so unlucky that the GFX card in the second AMILO has the same problem, or is there anything in my first laptop that would damage the GFX cards.

With so many experts out there will some one help me, please??.

Many thanks in advance Chris
