Guest ToxicGen
Hi. I'm the owner of an Acer Aspire 7520, it has an Nvidia 8400m G. And I want to overclock (pretty obvious with such a crap card). Well, here's the problem. Whenever I try to raise the clocks on this card, and hit apply, they INSTANTLY go back to their original values. Downclocking instead, is possible (But unable to raise them again without rebooting). I tried Rivatuner & nTune. I'm using the 178.13 drivers. Can anyone help me?
wook
mmm.. i have heard that people with your system can not overclock. to make sure uninstall the current driver, installing the standard VGA adapter. then restart into safe mode. use an app called driver sweeper to clean out all nvidia drivers. then restart. install your nvidia driver and try to overclock. may work, but as i said, have heard of people with your system that were just not able to overclock
Guest ToxicGen
Thx for the answer. I'm running xp now, but on vista I can overclock using stock drivers. I'll try the sweep and report back here
Guest Guest
Sweep and reinstall didn't seem to work.. Can I overclock if I flash the bios permanently with the clocks?
