hi forumers,

i'm currently using Acer 5920G

T7500 2.2ghz

3gb Ram

nvidia 8600M GT 512mb DDR2

vista ulti users

forceware 174.74(mod inf)

and here's i'm having some overclocking problems which frustrate me~

i overclocked my GPU to 550 core / 430 memory / shader 1100 (stock at 475/400)

and i get bout 70 celsius idle @ desktop

and 90 above when playing COD4 multiplayer

starting was about 70++ fps and no longer drop to 40~50 fps after few while gaming.

this was more probably i found out was the overheating problems, and need any solutions with it, between changing the forceware.

room temperature at about 23~26 celsius.

anyone got the same problems with me?advice and help needed, thanks

having a little difficulty understanding.

you mean you are getting good FPS, then suddenly it drops really low?

Your GPU has DDR2 memory and this is not as good for overclocking. maybe crank the clock rates down a bit.

Also try 179.14 driver as this is a better performing driver, and wont need as high overclock.

haha~sorry for my broken english

ya after i overclocked the 8600m gt to 550mhz core and 430 memory since stock core is 475 and memory 400

just slightly increase for both

then i played the COD4 in multiplayer mod, first was getting quite good fps like 70~80,

after around 30 minutes, it obviously gone down to 30~45 fps,

and then i checked for the GPU temperature, its about 95 celsius above.

and i not sure whether the GPU overheating makes my game fps slower

it might be a driver crash due to the overclocking being too high.

also your temps are pretty high... my 8600M GT GDDR3 doesnt get above 85c...

try not overclocking and using 179.14 its a fast driver anyway so you wont need to overclock. see if this solves the issue

thanks for the reply.

so far the problem already solved since change the notebook cooler pad and installed the 179.14 driver with core 535/410

slightly decrease few celsius but STILL when gaming idling @ 85~90(lower than previous) :)

gaming for 2 hrs ++ with no prob!!

and thanks again to "Wook" helps to solve this :)
