GaryHook
should be ok for gaming, probibly run crysis on medium at lower resolutions, maybe a bit more if you over clock
FrozenLord
Nice laptop you've got there :-) Should run most games on medium to high. (My girlfriend got a laptop with a 9600 GT too, powered by a P8400 and it runs Far Cry 2 pretty damn well on high)
wook
should be ok. 9600 GT is a middle of the range GPU, so expect to play at medium resolutions and medium settings. (for high end games)

Andrew55
Welcome back, yes, as said, it's going to be quite potent for sometime to come, so do enjoy!
zipper
It beats 8700M GT with some margin and with a small overclock it is faster than go7950GTX - so at least a little older games should fly and recent ones work quite well with medium settings - like my Quadro FX 1600M does.
