Well, new laptop, any good for gaming?

Well, old HP DV9500T died due to water contamination. Got a new one off the insurance. System specs are below, any good for gaming???

Windows Vista 64 Bit Home Premium

4GB DDR2 RAM

320GB HDD SATA 7200rpm

Nvidia Geforce 9600M GT with 512mb GDDR3 graphics memory, 1790mb available

sorry, aint been on this site for a while, been at uni drinking and clubbing!

should be ok for gaming, probibly run crysis on medium at lower resolutions, maybe a bit more if you over clock

Nice laptop you've got there :-)

Should run most games on medium to high.

(My girlfriend got a laptop with a 9600 GT too, powered by a P8400 and it runs Far Cry 2 pretty damn well on high)

should be ok. 9600 GT is a middle of the range GPU, so expect to play at medium resolutions and medium settings. (for high end games)

It beats 8700M GT with some margin and with a small overclock it is faster than go7950GTX - so at least a little older games should fly and recent ones work quite well with medium settings - like my Quadro FX 1600M does.
