So I installed a new bios around 5-6 months ago on my inspiron 1720 laptop. Ever hear the term, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? Yeah, well for a while my computer was superslow afterwards, but after tweaking a few settings, it was fine. This made me wonder which Bios Offered the best performance. I'm currently using Dell's A07. I'm a noob at this kind of thing, so here's some general info beforehand pasted from System Info.

What Bios version would offer the most performance? Anymore information I'd be happy to give. Thanks!

I got the a09 pre-installed bios at purchase and all is well under xp and sp3, had to modify my video driver as instructed in other threads here and i was well impressed as my budget laptop is all sweet after the problems I had initially due to a dodgy dell driver for my 8600gt video card. Bought the (refurbed) lappy to play bf2 when i was away from home etc and I get 100fps peak and a minimum of 50fps on low settings at 1280x1024 res in bf2 so im happy as it is very playable online in the biggest 64 player maps . This places a nice fat load on the whole laptop, though i feel my ram could do more if the board in this lappy supported 800mhz ram as my actual ram will do speed i think this but the board restricts it to 667mhz.

Does anyone out there have any mods software or hardware of any description? They would be very much appreciated :)
