usmanaziz911
I've recently bought Lenovo Ideapad Y530 with Nvidia Geforce 9500M G. It has the same graphics core as 9600M GS (G96M) but half of the shader processors are disabled. Is it possible that I can flash 9600M GS in it and enable the rest of the shader processors? The cards are compared here. http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?ca...9&card2=597 Edited May 25, 2009 by usmanaziz911
Blacky
No, even tough in GPU-Z you might read more shaders on your card they will still not going be physically active. However, you might still try it and run 3dmark06 to see if this is indeed the case.
ACP0WER
you have 50% chance of bricking your card; personally i wouldn't d it. hope it helps.
leshcat
2 usmanaziz911 As far as i remeber, there was a chance to do such things with RivaTuner with Olders Radeons and some Geforce Desktop cards. I would not recommend to try to flash,as there is a high probability that this turned off shader processors are turned off in physical way.
