dakota Posted July 29, 2009 Report Share Posted July 29, 2009 Hi I have the Following Notebook: Acer Aspire 5050-3371 It came with Vista Basic & now I want Windows 7 Ultimate I downloaded bios files from Acer & took a chance & flashed it Bios Type = Phoenix Bios Version = v1.3315 was v1.3303 Bios date = 11/14/07 was 1/23/07 Video Bios Date = 6/11/08 stayed same even though I flashed it Bios date still very old. not sure what else to do.........................................Help. trying to get my bios from 2.0 to 2.1, someone said I need to do this. Guest secr9tos Posted July 29, 2009 Report Share Posted July 29, 2009 hi, changing the number 2.0 to 2.1 doesn't mean that you have to update your bios. BUT what you have to do in order to activate windows 7 as oem is to update slic table 2.0 to slic/slp 2.1. There are two ways of doing that: 1. SoftLoader ( e.g WOW7 ) 2. BIOS mod I would recommend SoftLoader because it doesnt change real bios setting and you haven't to flash it! just google for WOW7 and tut (if needed)! secr9tos Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
