Guest JamesG
Hi, I have an Asus Eee PC901 with Gigabyte GN-WI06N-RH (AR5008 chipset) running Windows 7 RTM. I'm unable to change the MAC of the wireless card. I've tried changing the MAC using the Network Adapter Properties in Device Manager and also using the SMAC utility. Both methods simply change a registry key, which I've also tried changing manually. Sadly, the MAC address stays at the hardware address. The driver I'm using is the latest 18.104.22.168. I have the same problem using the original Windows 7 driver. I can change my LAN MAC address with no problems (also Atheros chipset). When I had WinXP, I could change the MAC of my GN-WI06N-RH. Can anyone else with an AR5008 chipset card change their MAC in Windows 7 ? Thanks.
