Intel 5300AGN WLAN Off because BIOS doesn't support this card

Hello,

I own a FSC Amillo Pro V3505 Notebook with an INTEL 3945ABG WLAN card. I tried to change this card against a INTEL 5300AGN and either Vista or Windows 7 recognize this card well and install the drivers correctly. Unfortunately the BIOS (Latest Version B0G) of my notebook doesn't support the card and so the WiFi can't be switcht on. Windows says the hardware switch is set to off.

I read about Atheros Cards and that your modded drivers can avoid this problem when using an ATHEROS card.

Do you als have such modded drivers for Intel Wifi Cards and if not, does an atheros 802.11n card with your modded driver work in every notebook? Which Atheros 802.11n card would you recommend?

Kind regards

Mark
