raaaaaaaandy
I have a Alienware m5500r3 I changed the bios on my 9300m GS so it will beep for 1 sec and removed the throttle clock speed, now I just need to flash the BIOS. I have made a USB flash boot disk with the BIOS, Nvflash etc set USB to be first in boot priority. The laptop starts shows alienware logo then _ flashes on the screen, when I press keyboard buttons it beeps. Can anyone please help.
mrx
http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1199078 Have you tried this link. It allows you to flash the gpu in windows.
raaaaaaaandy
I made a dos boot cd and copied my new bios and nvflash. I typed the nvflash -4 -5 -6 but it asks me to confirm that I want to flash the BIOS just above that it says Firmware image PCI Subsystem ID (10DE.0000) does not match adapter PCI Subsytem ID (1584.2295). So should I flash it or have I made a mistake with the Hex editing or using Nbitor. I used quipsters guide to change the BIOS beeping to 1 second and copied 3d clocks to throttle clocks in Nbitor. Guest quipster
Yeah, it seems like you did everything correctly and you are good to go. So far I flashed 3 different cards on 2 different notebooks, and I have always gotten this warning message so far. It is important though that the checksum of the Bios is correct. I hope you double-checked that. Now it only takes the courage to press the 'Y'-key, and after 10-15 exciting seconds the flash procedure should be over. raaaaaaaandy
Thanks, it worked, it now just beeps twice at most, and I have the full speed of the graphics card. Only problem is that I cant install the latest nvidia drivers in Windows 7 64 bit, even manually searching for the driver does not work. The desktop drivers worked, so if you can't get notebook drivers to work try the desktop ones.
