zipper
Was a b**** to install - couldn't get rid of my old PhysX. Fighting several hours uninstalling, cleaning etc. Finally found the trick - had to install first 280.19 onto my 280.38 and then did 290.53 install without hiccups. Odd. There is a long tradition of broken PhysX installers since Ageia times. Guest steberg
I would also appreciate the modded inf, since my Z11 will not install these drivers without the modded inf.

Guest Dave
Hi there, been lurking and following for years May I please make a suggestion to add a user-rating system (e.g. 0-5 stars) to each driver release right off the driver search page of the main website? It would greatly help to make a decision if a certain driver is good or should be avoided before going to the individual release threads to get more info. Guest Yup
Also after a modded inf, here. I'm running a Go 7950 GTX, which I can assure you just barely handles Skyrim. Even a net ten percent gain on that potential twenty-five percent promise sounds good to me.
Guest Yup
Right, so I've modified the inf myself, and can confirm that this driver does improve Skyrim performance for 7900 series GPUs. I'm running a Go 7950 GTX, and I see small improvements in outdoor rendering (small enough that they may not actually be there), but indoor rendering improvements on the order of twenty percent. I suspect a modified inf hasn't yet been made available because the driver supports various mobile cards of newer generation by default, and I realise some of you will ask that I furnish you with the modifed version I've produced, but I've modified the inf only to add support for the Go 7950 GTX. The reason for this is that it's the simplest change to make that will suffice for my hardware configuration, and I've never modified an inf before. I figured out how to do so by examining what was done to the 290.36 inf to modify it, then carrying the method over to the 290.53 inf, which is a bit different in structure. It's not particularly difficult to do, but it does assume a familiarity with basic computing principles. These are the changes I made to the Vista/7 32-bit inf: [NVIDIA_SetB_Devices.NTx86.6.0] %NVIDIA_DEV.0297.01% = Section101, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0297 [section101] AddReg = nv_DRS_addreg AddReg = nv_FTS_addreg AddReg = nv_commonBase_addreg__01 AddReg = nv_commonDisplayModes_addreg AddReg = nv_controlPanel_addreg AddReg = nv_global_addreg AddReg = nv_miscBase_addreg__01 AddReg = nv_opengl_addreg AddReg = Mobile_Tweaks AddReg = nv_timingRestrictions_addreg CopyFiles = nv_Drs_copyfiles CopyFiles = nv_cplSetup_copyfiles CopyFiles = nv_license_copyfiles CopyFiles = nv_sysDrivers_copyfiles CopyFiles = nv_system32_copyfiles__01 DelFiles = nv_sysDrivers_delfiles DelFiles = nv_system32_delfiles DelFiles = nv_system64_delfiles DelReg = nv_clearRegistrySwitches_delreg FeatureScore = E6 NVSupportDisplayUpdate = 1 RegisterDLLs = nv_common_registerdll [section101.CoInstallers] AddReg = nv_commonCoinstaller_addreg CopyFiles = nv_coinstaller_copyfiles [section101.GeneralConfigData] MaximumDeviceMemoryConfiguration = 128 MaximumNumberOfDevices = 4 [section101.Services] AddService = nvlddmkm, 0x00000002, nv_nvlddmkm_serviceInstall [section101.HW] Include = machine.inf Needs = PciASPMOptIn [strings] NVIDIA_DEV.0297.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX" I hope this helps anyone inclined to have a go at it himself, or in the very least provides sufficient confirmation of performance improvement on older architecture as to encourage that the LV2G community produce a general purpose modded inf for this driver.
