Bill Posted October 22, 2012 Report Share Posted October 22, 2012 For those of you that haven't been keeping up, TI is hard at work on the first Cortex-A15 development boards. These will be like the pandaboard, but much better. They are incorporating features that the community desires so it should be a much nicer platform than the Panda board was. I haven't heard from TI yet when these are coming, but my own personal guess is the next 2-6 months probably. The first generation dual core A15s will go head to head with core 2 duos, so they should make for excelent linux tablets. I may purchase one of these kits myself (if the drivers work better than they did on the Pandaboard). Also for reference, the OMAP4 Pandaboard came out around a year before the first OMAP4 cell phones were widely available, such as the Galaxy Nexus.
