What is ShadowPlay?

ShadowPlay is a new feature in GeForce Experience that lets you capture high quality in-game footage with minimal performance impact. It has two modes: manual mode and shadow mode. Manual mode lets you toggle recording like a video recorder. Shadow Mode lets you save up to the last 20 minutes of footage that happened on screen.

What GPUs support ShadowPlay?

Shadowplay uses the hardware H.264 encoder built into Kepler GPUs. A GeForce GTX 650 or higher GPU is required.

What games do ShadowPlay support?

ShadowPlay supports all DirectX based games.

What's the performance impact of ShadowPlay?

In most games, you shouldn't see a noticeable performance difference with Shadowplay, 5% is typical, 10% in the most demanding cases.
In SLI mode, the performance impact is up to 20%.

Is ShadowPlay supported with Nvidia Surround?

ShadowPlay is currently not supported in NVIDIA Surround mode.

What resolution does ShadowPlay support?

ShadowPlay outputs at 1920 x 1080 resolution. Gameplay at higher or lower resolutions are scaled to 1080p. If the gameplay aspect ratio is different, black bars are added to preserve the original aspect ratio of the captured footage."
