Guest sdw
I am partial to the guides at TweakHound. He has a well organized guide that recognizes different levels of needs. He is also good at avoiding tweaks of marginal or dubious value. For instance, most guides recommend tweaks for virtual memory that may have been helpful for Win9x, but are useless or even detrimental in XP (e.g. fixed-size page files, unloading dlls, disabling paging executive). YMMV! -Scott-

EXACTLY, thats my point! TRUE! I thought i'm the only one, who pays attention to that!! Must have a look at this site as i already have included some regtweaks in the FAST Boot How To (MRBOSS, Maintenance & Repair, Boot OS Smart) , but surely there is a lot more to add. Sites or people who suggest fixedpage file on an extra partition (!), unloading dlls(!) with 512MBRAM?!! and all that other copy&pasted crap from 9598ME&2K can be found everywhere. To find the ones who know what they write is diffcult. Thanks for the link. And remember don't disable 8.3 on NTFS as it gives problem with some applications (i forgot which one failed on my machine, that was 3 years ago when i tested that value). :)
