ofelas
The Dell Notebook system Software updates XP_SP1's CPU driver to gv3.sys; SP2_RC2_2149 further updates the Pentium-M CPU driver to intelppm.sys with a much newer build date...anyone noticed USB/floppy/docking problems after applying SP2_RC2? No issues yet here...
®®®
problem with these new versions of RC1 & RC2 is, that just COPYING the new SYS or DLL or whatever does NOT do the job. The SFP of XP just replaces these version with the last used one. You NEED to INSTALL these new files with an INF and the apprpiate CATalog file, so that the used file is certified and properly integrated in the OS. ofelas
Good point; I have the cat, inf & sys files of both CPU drivers. The gv3.sys makes the CPU run *slightly* cooler, but no difference in general temperatures, benchmarks etc....what say dontknow?

LSudlow
Citrixcl, I'm not getting any vibration here. Usually that's just due to an unbalanced disk.
ofelas
dimitris - replace the SP2 Processor driver (intelppm.sys) with gv3.sys (from the link above).
