Hi everybody...

I've just installed 53.03 detonator with Dell OEM inf... Amazing results on first look... I will launch a benchmark and post the result as soon as possible... I've already tried many others drivers but these one seem to be the best...

Oh yeah, Lsudow, which drivers do you exactly use, since we both have the same configuration.... and what results do you get in 3Dmark2001SE with these drivers...

See you...

Rajasthan,

Have a look in the Benchmark section, here you will find LSudlow's results for many drivers.

Cheers Rajasthan,

Enjoy the site and we look forward to your scores.

Have you looked on the Performance page on the website, it's full of benchies.

I want to see your name there, so you have work to do.

Pieter.

Ok, no problem... Be careful Lsudlow, I'm coming :) ... i'm gonna beat your 6963 3dmark 2001's scores...

At the moment, i'm testing the drivers with HT enabled/disabled... because I get a serious feeling that HT decrease performances with modded drivers... I think it's an interesting thing to verify... Maybe am I totally mistaking, but.... who lives will see...

I don't make any performance enhancements or slow the drivers down.

A Dell driver and my driver should behave similar.

There might be a small difference as Dell uses a whole heap more sertings in their INFs. (Dell are very conservative)

I look forward to those score, will be interesting with(out) HT.

LSudlow doesn't have HT on his CPU, so you already have an advantage.

LSudlow has a special INF just for i5150's, you can find it here

enjoy,

Pieter.

Oh yeah, just one little question... i saw in a post that it was possible to force halo to run in DX8 mode, with adding "-use11" or "-use14" to the program executable...

Does it work for any game ? because i get slow DX9 performances (like anybody with fx go5200 i guess)

That I have no idea on , I have no time to play games, too busy here.

Speaking of which, you should be benchmarking, now go and beat LSudlow !! :)

I suppose we'll soon find out.

The only real advantage is HT, not sure how much this will affect the score.

I'll soon post my results (today i hope) on a webpage that i created on this occasion...

All I can already say is that HT doesn't really seems to increase/decrease performance...

You're a good boy

And, is there anything LSudlow has to be afraid of?

noooooooooooooo... don't be too afraid... i'm gonna be nice with you guys... :)

Sheesh! I miss a day and look what happens! :)

And yes, the INF I posted in the Utlity section is the fastest I've been able to come up with so far for the 5150. I'll be interested to see your results. Thanks!

Some drivers (mainly newer ones) allow you to force no shaders. In my current set it's like more direct3d options and I may force "fixed function" which means no shaders.

yes that works very very well on the 5150

-use14 supposedly is faster than 11

-useff is ugly but even faster

-console will help ya do stuff

-window is fun too...

just put -use14 after the " in the shortcut path.

doesn't work... i don't have a " in my shortcut

and when i add it or when i try to add the window command line, the program still runs fullscreen...

Guest citrixcl

make a new shortcut to halo

go to its properties

target: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -console -vidmode 1600,1200,60

that is mine

you might like

target: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -console -window -use14
