mobilenvidia
Make sure you have uninstalled the old drivers first. Use Control panel's 'Add Remove Programs' to remove the nVidia driver. Older drivers used different names and might hang around. After uninstalling driver reboot, now when windows reboots it will find new hardware (Video), point this towards the place where you have the driver that you want to install. (make sure that the directory only contains the modified nv4_disp.inf, ie no other files ending inf ! It should ask to install a monitor just let windows find this automaticly. Now reboot, this is the proper way to install drivers, if you still have problems, then something might be causing the problems, ie a corrupt dll, background program, or just old files hanging around. I reformat my HD several times a year, to keep the system running optimum. you may have to resort to this and install a new driver from the start (ie don't install old driver first) Hope this helps, Pieter.
