Guest vigilante Posted July 15, 2004 Report Share Posted July 15, 2004 I have a satellite p25 and it comes with a geforce go5200 i want to upgrade it to a different graphics card. I cant seem to find anything online about if its possible or not. If anyone knows if i can upgrade it whats the best card i can get it. As well is there any sites out there that show how to do that. Guest Guest Posted August 20, 2004 Report Share Posted August 20, 2004 Hey dude. I also wanted to upgrade my card and discovered that most of the times its not possible. Apparently the notebook manufacturer usually designs the graphics cards to fit the particular notebook. Thats why you dont see mobile video cards for sale anywhere, they are made specifically for each system.. Some manufacturers (such as dell) use daughter boards to attach their graphics cards to the motherboard so swaps are possible. For example i can exchange my go5200 for a Mobility Radeon 9000 in my inspiron 5150. You'll have to get in touch with your notebook manufacturer to see whether they make a replacement card for your system. Hope this helped.
