remanence Posted August 8, 2004 Report Share Posted August 8, 2004 I am very surprised by the result with old driver 44.01 for geforce fx 5200 go 3Dmark01 post 7033* with the 44.01 where as with the official 55.77 nvidia mobile 3Dmark01 post only 6586! :) normally it is not the opposite? *maximum perfomance from Pieter's page and best result with a P4-M/FX 5200. :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Guest Posted August 15, 2004 Report Share Posted August 15, 2004 Generally, the 4x.xx drivers are more geared towards DirectX 8.1, which is tested in 3DMark01. When you move up to 5x.xx drivers, you'll see a drop in DirectX 8.1 performance, but an increase in DirectX 9 performance. It depends on what kinds of games you play to choose the drivers you use, just play around with them a bit. Try downloading 3DMark03 and running the tests over again, and you may see what I mean.
