OPaul
Has anyone had this happen to them? I'm using 4.5.9.1 and installed Windows XP SP2 and whenever I went to open a video file I would get a blue screen with an IRQ fault listing the Nvidia driver. Teraphy
You may have driver version conflict. SP2 comes with updated NV drivers in the 56.xx range. I'm not sure if updating SP2 forces the newer driver. Can you confirm all your NV file versions are 45.91? You may also want to google this issue as I believe it was an issue in pre-SP2 releases not related to drivers.
Almighty1
Are you playing DiVX files by any chance?
OPaul
Unfortunately I already removed SP2 so I can't see whether SP2 installed it's own video drivers or kept what I had. I should have checked before I uninstalled I guess. Yea, I believe they were DiVX.
Bill
Try installing it again (SP2) and getting the latest version of the Divx player or codec, then tell us if you still have the problem. Here are some helpful links: http://www.divx.com/divx/player/versions.php (version history) http://www.divx.com/divx/player/ (player) Bill P.S. If you didnt catch Almighty1 he said, he was implying that it might be a divx problem.
OPaul
I use FFDShow, not the DiVX codecs. And come to think of it I did try playing an MPEG file with the same results.
®®®
Here's a list of software which have problems with SP2. Although most are XP 64bit related, it might help you. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=884130' target="_blank"> Btw i can't find any reason why people should install the DivX player and codec from divx.com to play divx movies. There are alternatives which are free and more versatile than divx, as mentioned ffdshow or 3ivx which can be used with any player of your choice.
