Hey all. Before I go messing with my laptop here, does anyone have any drivers that work with the geforce 420 go (16mb), and toshibas? I have the 1415-S173 , which of course has the 15volt thingy.

Anyone successfully get any newer infs and drivers working with this kind of setup?

I have the 52.16's and no issues, however performance is a bit sluggish i notice in some games now.

Any help is appreciated!

The blackbar was diagnosed to be poor BIOS information. If you have a 4.17.00.41.CX BIOS then you for sure have the problem and the solution is found here .

Unless you're specifically looking for a response from another 1415 user then I can't help.

I have the same laptop, same video BIOS.

I've just installed 66.00 with 30.29 inf, and it's working fine.

The following changes were made to the inf to make it compatible with the Toshiba laptop. These changes aren't specific to 66.00/30.29, so you should be able to do this with any of the infs for the 6x.xx driver versions.

1. Added the following lines of code under the [nv_SoftwareDeviceSettings] section of the inf. This code is only for Toshiba screens with a native resolution of 1024x768.

HKR,, OverrideEdidFlags0, %REG_BINARY%, 3A,C4,00,00,00,00,FF,FF,04,00,00,00,36,12,64,19,00,40,41,00,26,30,18,88,36,00,1E
D7,10,00,00,18
HKR,, OverrideEdidFlags1, %REG_BINARY%, 3A,C4,00,02,00,00,FF,FF,04,00,00,00,36,12,64,19,00,40,41,00,26,30,18,88,36,00,1E
D7,10,00,00,18

2. To fix 'blank screen after standby' issue:

Change

HKR,, MapOSD3ToNV,                   %REG_DWORD%,    3

to

HKR,, MapOSD3ToNV,                   %REG_DWORD%,    2

Now, would it be possible to flash the bios to the one that generally has no issues with the drivers, and say, have it not fark up my system? I ask because it would be much easier than having to fix the drivers constantly. Generally I would frown upon such a thing, but if there isnt any general harm, then hey, why not!
