Which it does then when it restarts it does it again, unistall driver and restart. After anywhere between 3 or 4 restarts it says multiple XP installations running do you want to continue then goes into unistall and restart everytime Versions I've tried 61.76, 62.20, 65.62 with the modified inf added Version I've got 4.4.8.2 date 24 June 2003 Any Idea's

Bill
You mean deleting the Nvidia registry section fixed it? This should be remembered incase anyone else here has problems installing drivers. Video driver 45.81 is available here: . Here is one other thing to try: uninstall your current driver through add/remove programs in control panel. Restart the computer. Go to start, run and type regedit. Press enter. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software and delete NVIDIA corporation (if it is there). If you use NVDVD, tell me and don't do it (if you don't know what NVDVD is, still delete the registry key, as you would know if you had it). Don't alter anything else. Then install the modified driver. If you install a lot of drivers repeatedly, that might be a good idea to clean out the old ones. Also, NVDVD is the DVD playback software from nvidia (if anyone wanted to know), which would also get unistalled/screwed up if you got rid of the Nvidia registry. You can find the software (free trial) on Nvidia's site here: Bill
®®®
Under normal circumstances the manual deletion of the HKLM\NVcorp keys is not necessary. Since the very beginning of Pieters INF a section in the INF is responsible for deleting any NV related stuff under HKR, HKLM and HKCU.
