LSudlow
:) That's with no overclocking? Impressive! What tweaks did you use?

Guest Guest
ok you want to know? its a pain in the arse...lol ok I used the drivers 65.90 I set everything to high performance.... I didnt not over clock.... I got these custom made heat sinks for my RAM chips that dispenses the heat this is the crazy part.... I took apart my laptop, and got a custom case made for it, it has alot more room and I got 3 more fans put in to it. the case is open on one side and I got this liquid cooling system added to it with the lines running through it. I got rid of my old 5200 RPM HD and replaced it with a 7200 RPM HD I upgraded to 2 GIG'S of over clocked DDR 600 MHZ custom gaming Ram my next step is to upgrade the Proc to Hyper Threading and bump it up to 3.4 GHZ Then, my last step is since I have a custom case with alot of room, is to get a new graphics Cards, like a Geforce FX go5700 or better.... I also tested it at night, opened all the windows and made sure it was cool as hell. doing benchmarks when its hot hurts the score... more to come :) Edited October 8, 2004 by Teraphy
LSudlow
:) That's not tweakage! That's building a new laptop from scratch! Reminds me of those old Hot Rods, where you'd take a relative small car and install a huge engine (almost as big as the car), carb, blower manifold, four-inch exhaust pipes, etc, all hanging out the sides and poking through the hood. Heck, what you've got is hotter than most desktops! Send us a photo of that monster and we'll add it to our "Laptop Hall of Fame!" :)
mobilenvidia
Is it still a laptop ?, How about a piccy of you with this Speed Demon on your lap. How about a 3DMark 2k1 score, so I can add to the Performance page. Wait for the 6800go to come out (should not be far away now), then you'll kick some booty. Very impressive!! The Case is a clear Plexi Glass type of thing I got build in my budies Shop. I already posted my 2k1 scores...please see the second screen shot.. o and now on high settings on 1072X768 I can get 45 frames a second even with alot of mobs on the screen (DOOM 3) my CPU stays at 30 C no matter what I do to it.... I will get a digital camera soon and post a pic...the computer isnt pretty, its something you would see from aliens or something ROFL

w00ters
How did you attach your display? Is it a part of the custom case or external? How [if] did you connect the LCD notebook display? Did you make a custom plexi case for the notebook display as well?

Bill
Maybe if I bribe this guy he could build me a new laptop. This current case I have is still really nice looking though.
