Guest Austiban
I was wondering if there is a difference between running a desktop driver version or a laptop driver on a mobile card? Is the only difference the name that comes up(in device manager...etc), or are the infs optimised differently on a mobile driver?
®®®
Calling a driver desktop or mobile is derived whether it was published by an OEM (DELL, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Gainward, ASUS etc) for a desktop Graphic Card or a certain Laptop model with a specific mobile GPU build in. In the future you will even be able to change your graphic card in a Laptop by changing your MXM graphic 'module'. Yes, mobile drivers have special settings in their INFs which needs explicitely EN/DISABLED concerning the lid, hibernation & standby things you don't need to care of for desktop graphic cards. Welcome to the forum :)
Guest Austiban
Thanks for the info. By the way, does anyone know when laptop manufacturers will start releasing MXM equipped laptops?
