Hi everyone. I have a Toshiba 5205-S503 with XP SP1 Home Edition. I installed Halo this weekend and it works great when I play the single player Campaign. If you have familiar with Halo with you play mutiplayer the game downloads and update before I can connect to the internet. Once this update is complete I restart Halo and see 3 mini movie but when I reach the point where the Halo menu is suppose to appear there is no menu. The screen is black and flickers, I can hear the menu cursor moving and the music. I downloaded the latest nVidia driver from Toshiba's website and it still doesn't work. I'm finding out that possibly my video driver is not the latest. Can anyone tell me if they have seen this before and what is the latest driver I can use for this, and how to install it correctly. I'm sort of at my last rope with this one. Thank you!

You should be able to use any driver that you see here.

Grab the driver, then grab the modified INF that goes with it.

Replace the original INF with the modified one, then install.

Installation instructions are in the FAQ, you may also need to read up on the Black bar problem seeing you own a Toshiba. (in the support section)

Try 67.03 as a starting point.

Enjoy and welcome to the forums.

Can't remember clearly , but i think the 460 go generally is not affected by BlackBar problem, at least in my case :)

btw can you post your BIOS version and systems specs here:

Hey guys..thanks for the help I appreciate it! I installed 67.03 driver with the INF for laptops and now the Halo menu screen appears after the update. I don't have the BlackBar problem either. I haven't had any issues yet but if I do I'm sure I'll be back here. Thanks again! :)
