If not, obtain the additional package, the Embedded Controller Program Version 1.xx (depends on model), and update the Embedded Controller Program from within your Operating System (Windows based Flasher). If you need to update Embedded Controller Program as well as the BIOS, update the BIOS first. DEZ-2004: DOWNLOAD & iNFOThinkPad R31 BIOS v3.11, released 01-DEZ-2004- Display swtich Hot key (Fn+F7) may not work with WindowsXP SP2.JAN-2005: DOWNLOAD & iNFOThinkPad G41 BIOS v1.06, released 27-JAN-2005- (Fix) Wrong CPU speed may be displayed in BIOS Setup on the machine with a CPU. - (Fix) After display mode was set by GUI on Desktop, display mode may be changed when LID is re-opened.- (Fix) Some systems power on automatically after AC/Battery plug in from no power state. - (Fix) "unknown" may be returned for Processor family of SMBIOS type4. DOWNLOAD & iNFO | BIOS v3.14, released 17-FEB-2005ThinkPad R50, R50pThinkPad R51 (Machine Type: 1829, 1830, 1831 and 1836)ThinkPad T40, T40p, T41, T41p, T42, T42pNote:This BIOS version will only work with Embedded Controller Program Version 3.04 (or higher).- (Fix) "Access IBM" may be launched after resuming from hibernation State.- (Fix) Improvement of Integrated Fingerprint Reader.NOTE: Because of this fix, you need to re-install the finger print password after BIOS update. The previous password can be installed.This is only once required for Fingerprint system after BIOS update.- (Fix) The system hangs while OS/2 is booted up if video expansion mode is enabled.- (Fix) Once Access IBM starts with using Access IBM button and then is closed, it is freely launched after resuming from hibernation mode.
