Tried the Q822624 but all it does is open the command prompt and then Error 61.

have you researched what's the meaning of error 61? would be interesting.

Not really since it's hard to diagnose. I mean if warp2search.net and neowin.net doesn't show it, it's probably not important.

Toshiba writes:

"This QFE fixes an issue where the computer intermittently hangs with a black screen, or the sound is lost after restart."

and it's "intended" to use on Satellites A45-S1202, A45-S2502, A45-S1301, A45-S130, A40-S2701, A40-S270, A40-S2001, A40-S200, A45-S2501, A45-S250, A45-S1501, A45-S150, A45-S1201, A45-S120, but as MS wrote all legacyfree systems "MAY" be affected.

This KB was posted on 12.feb.2004 by toshiba, neowin and warp2search don't have a clue whats goin on in the laptop scene i guess :)

ja, 329256 is old, but was made available for public on 28.04.2004.

When you check the KB you'll see, that the filedates are from 2002.

WMP9 update is only one dll and only for english XPs. I don't need it, cuz i don't use WMP :) .

Post SP1 (pre SP2) CPU driver for Pentium-M CPUs (Q332179)

SUMMARY

Microsoft has released a processor driver for Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) that supports the mobile power management features of Intel Pentium M (Centrino) processors. These features include Intel Enhanced SpeedStep Technology and Intel Deeper Alert Sleep State. Without this processor driver, Windows XP-based computers that are based on the Intel Pentium M processor may experience reduced battery life, decreased performance, or increased operating temperatures.

MORE INFORMATION

To obtain this driver, contact Microsoft Product Support Services.

Or, obtain this enhanced Pentium-M CPU driver from nVision/laptopvideo2go :)
