With Forceware driver 8.xxx and newer, I can open film with power dvd or media player only one time. If I try to open a second time a film, after few second, film image became green. Ok for games.

All it's ok with Forceware 71.20.

Try enabling the VMR option on the overlay page. Or if it's already on, try turning it off. If that doesn't work, experiment with other recent drivers. I highly recommend driver 72.14 for video. It's an excellent driver that works well with a wide variety of machines.

Now I'm working, I'll try 72.14 later! :)

VMR? It's on the Nvidia Page (from Control Panel) ?

It's on the "Overlay Settings" page of the nvidia control panel.

Hi!

I try Forceware 72.14, but it' s slower than 72.10. No problem with Playback video software.

For Overlay I'll try tomorrow.

My display driver is Italian, so I didn,t find overlay settings.

Hi,

I try to disable VMR, but nothing!

I see this:

1) Play a video (with media player or power DVD): OK for the very first time

2) Play a second time a film, but the screen became green.Ok audio.

2) Disable VMR and play a fil: Black screen and ok audio

3) Enable VMR: OK audio and VIDEO.

So: I must turn off and on VMR to see a Film a second time.

Why appened this?

Any help?

Thankyou

I can't explain it. You're right, VMR is required these days for almost everything, but you shouldn't have to turn it off and back on. It sounds like it's not disconnecting properly after the first video stops.

Now that you know what to look for, maybe try some different drivers to see if any of them behaves correctly. Especially, you might want to give 81.95 a try. Many people are reporting good luck with it.

If newer drivers all fail, you might want to try 67.66. It doesn't support the newest games, but if you aren't a gamer, it's a solid, well-behaved driver in almost every respect. It also has the advantage that VMR isn't required (though it's available if you want it).
