pat1470
Hello there. I'm hoping that some kind soul out there can help me. I recently installed Windows XP Professional with service pack 2 on my Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100. Following installation I have developed a vertical black bar on the right hand side of my screen. My old screen resolution was 1024x768 on a NVidia Geoforce 420 GO card using driver 6.13.10.2724. Now I have the lovely black bar.... The new 'improved' version only allows a maximum resolution of 969x768 using driver version 6.14.10.5673. I gather this is not an uncommon problem, but I wonder if someone can please help me with this. My system details are: OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600 OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Name ODK-1DC2875DD25 System Manufacturer TOSHIBA System Model SP6100 System Type X86-based PC Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~1694 Mhz BIOS Version/Date TOSHIBA Version 1.60, 12/06/2002 SMBIOS Version 2.3 Windows Directory C:\WINDOWS System Directory C:\WINDOWS\system32 Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume1 Locale United States Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)" User Name ODK-1DC2875DD25\PSRQ Time Zone GMT Standard Time Total Physical Memory 512.00 MB Available Physical Memory 138.53 MB Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB Page File Space 1.22 GB Page File C:\pagefile.sys Name NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go (Microsoft Corporation) PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0175&SUBSYS_00011179&REV_A3\4&2EEAE0A0&0&0008 Adapter Type GeForce4 420 Go, NVIDIA compatible Adapter Description NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go (Microsoft Corporation) Adapter RAM 32.00 MB (33,554,432 bytes) Installed Drivers nv4_disp.dll Driver Version 6.14.10.5673 INF File nvts.inf (nv4_NV17_WinXP section) Color Planes 1 Color Table Entries 4294967296 Resolution 969 x 768 x 60 hertz Bits/Pixel 32 Memory Address 0xFD000000-0xFDFFFFFF Memory Address 0xDC000000-0xDFFFFFFF Memory Address 0xDBF80000-0xDBFFFFFF IRQ Channel IRQ 10 I/O Port 0x000003B0-0x000003BB I/O Port 0x000003C0-0x000003DF Memory Address 0xA0000-0xBFFFF Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\nv4_mini.sys (6.14.10.5673, 1.81 MB (1,897,408 bytes), 01/01/2000 00:49) Thank you for help and patience!
