mobilenvidia
Just found these new GPU's mentioned in an INF (very new INF) The Mobile world might see the release of the G71 series GPU first or at least not very far away. This is nVidia's answer to the X1900 series from ATI. Not sure if the GTX will come with 512MB of RAM. Also odd to see a go7900 GS, will this be a PCI version of the GPU for laptops ? The new Quadro's are also a little odd, also based on the G71 core. This is go with with the other Quadro's also supported in current drivers but not seen yet. Here is a wee peek at the new PCI-ID's: NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0298.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS"NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0299.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX" NVIDIA_G71.DEV_029A.1 = "NVIDIA Quadro FX 2500M" NVIDIA_G71.DEV_029B.1 = "NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500M" Now an even odder thing this INF says that the Quadro NVS 110M and 120M share the same PCI-ID as the go7300 and go7400 respectively. I wonder if this will eventuate, this can make life hard for some installers as ATI's PCI-ID sharing GPU's have shown in the past. Interesting times ahead. jamesd
Go 7900 GTX?!!?! ######, I better wait before I buy another laptop... :) Anyway, as I probably will get a Clevo D900K in April, or some time around, I won't bother until I hear anything about the G71 Go GTX being released other wise i'll be buying outdated hardware. I made the same mistake with my go 6800 clevo d900t. Edited February 3, 2006 by ®®®
