sn0wl
This ingenious design works on a quite simple idea, one end of the gadget plugs into your laptop USB port and then you carry a tiny transmitter somewhere about your person. The transmitter wirelessly communicates with the USB device, seemingly doing nothing, but if you move more than 6 feet away from your beloved laptop then it locks up. Password access is required to gain control of it again, unless you are the owner of the transmitter. As soon as you are back in range the notebook springs to life exactly as you left it, no passwords, no mess, no fuss. Read more.
mattman
There's something similar in Toshiba's M400. You can associate your blutooth mobile phone and when you walk outside bluetooth range (10m) the notebook locks itself. Unlocks when you return... mmmm
