The Type 1/2/3 is actually a size variation in terms of how much RAM can be packed on the cards themselves. Didn't know the exact power classes though :) I think the RAM size limitation is relative. I see no reason why a Type I couldn't carry 256 and I expect Type III to carry 512 pretty soon.
