Wow, didn't think this would happen.

Obviously the market for Clevo based laptops is very tight.

Here is the news direct from PCTorque's website

As of Tuesday, May 16th, 2006, PC Torque LTD will no longer be taking new Sager custom laptop orders. PC Torque will remain open in a support capacity as the focus of the company?s owners shifts to Internet Publishing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Is PC Torque closing?

No, actually quite the opposite ? the people at PC Torque are busier than ever! We are very excited to be making the transition from an e-commerce business to an Internet Publisher. We will be focusing full-time on www.NotebookForums.com, www.StrafeRight.com, and a dynamic new Internet property that we will be releasing for you this Summer.

How will I be able to reach PC Torque?

PC Torque?s standard forms of communication will be open as long as our Sager customers need them. Our phone number, 800-346-6986, will remain active into the future, and you will hear from the same friendly voices on the other end of the line. Our offices will remain open at 9415 Burnet Road, Suite 210, Austin, TX 78758. And of course, we always can be reached through our other websites listed above.

What about my warranty and tech support?

Not a single thing will change about your warranty or tech support for computers purchased through PC Torque. Sager will still provide the same phone support and RMA service at 800- - , and our warranties will be accessible the same way they always have been: Phillips Magnavox Warrantech On-Site Warranties We are grateful for the enthusiastic support of our customers over the years, and we look forward to continuing all our friendships at the fastest-growing and most exciting notebook and gaming communities on the Web!

This should open the door for companies like Discountlaptops and Hypersonic and the many others out there.

Mind you they have a huge forum following, so to head down this road can't be all bad.

Lets see what happens and hopefully they stick to their word on supporting current laptop owners.
