Holy Cow Eh!

I installed these on my Inspiron 9300 with a 7800 GTX and it actually works! I haven't been able to get a single driver to install on this thing and work properly other than the official Dell or NV drivers (84.xx). This is great.

I actually customized the INF myself because there wasn't one on here yet. I just added the mobile 7800 Go GTX's device id to the two sections where they are defined and the driver installed fine. Played Crysis a little and ran thru 3DMark05. Everything worked as far as I could tell, with none of the weird pauses and stutters of previous driver versions.

Well, 169.02 gave a little boost in performance for Crysis, so I figured if they now say that these ones actually improve the performance even MORE, then why not try them out?

As it turned out, these are definitely the best drivers for Crysis right now. I've got around 5 to 10 more FPS with my configuration of Crysis at 1360X768 res, and it runs a lot smoother. Still not 60FPS smooth, but definitely closer. Here's hoping the drivers keep getting better and make Crysis run smooth as silk.

These drivers still have the multiple monitor resolution issue - ie the 2nd monitor doesn't display the native res on start-up and the transmitted display is "bigger" than the monitors actual display.

Displays correctly if you disconnect the monitor then reconnect it.

Got myself in a pickle tho today when the second monitor absolutely refused to be recognised at all after the reconnect.

I have a problem with these drivers, but I have a hunch it may be because of the modded inf. When connecting an external monitor I can't select 32-bit for resolutions 1600x1200 and over. When a higher resolution is selected it can only do 16-bit. What do I need to modify in order to select 32-bit for 1600x1200 and higher resolutions?

I have a Thinkpad Lenovo T61p equipped with NVidia Quadro FX 570m. This video card is not listed as supported (only the FX 570 is listed). Do you think that I can try to install them in any case?

I also habe a T61P. I always install the very newest driver, and I have no problems despite of some small little things (like the Control of the Display Brightness isn't working correctly)

If you're switching from the original Lenovo Drivers for FX 570M to 169.xx you will gain a HUGE Performance Boost in general (about 500 3DMark06 Points, got from 3800 to 4250) and an EXTREME Performance Boost in Crysis.

Are there any changes that we can make to the .inf to fix the dual monitor problem?

I have a Samsung Syncmaster as the primary monitor, and the laptop monitor is the

secondary one in dualview mode. Whenever the computer reboots, the Samsung

resolution can't be set, and the desktop becomes too large for the screen -- if you

move the mouse to the edge of the screen, it will scroll to the edge of the desktop.

Any ideas how to fix this? I'm not sure how to use the resolution stuff that you posted

here.

Thanks for the time and all the great work here. I love the drivers.

The second monitor resolution issue has been a problem for a while on any of the 16X.XX drivers. I found that it only happens when connecting the monitor via DVI. If you can connect via VGA the issue will go away. I had seen a fix for it but it did not work in the end for my system. So my suggestion is either use the 156/157 drivers for laptops or use the 169 with a vga cable.

Worked like a charm.

Here's how to add 32-bit mode in higher resolutions and more supported refresh rates ( > 85Hz) for external CRT monitors.

Replace these two lines in the modded inf

HKR,, NV_Modes, %REG_MULTI_SZ%, "{*}S 320x200 320x240 400x300 480x360 512x384 640x350 640x400 640x480 720x400 720x480 720x576 768x576 852x480 853x480 854x480 864x480=1FFF;"
HKR,, NV_Modes, %REG_SZ_APPEND%, "SHV 800x600 1024x640 1024x768 1152x864 1176x664 1280x720 1280x768 1280x800 1280x854 1280x960 1280x1024 1360x768 1365x768 1366x768 1400x1050 1440x900 1600x900 1600x1000 1600x1024 1600x1200 1680x1050 1768x992 1800x1440 1920x1080 1920x1200 1920x1440 2048x1280 2048x1536 2560x1600 3840x2400x8,16,32,64=1F;"

with this:

HKR,, NV_Modes, %REG_MULTI_SZ%, "{*}S 320x200 320x240 400x300 480x360 512x384 640x350 640x400=1FFF;SHV 640x480 720x400 720x480 768x576 800x600 852x480 853x480 854x480 864x480 1024x640 1024x768 1152x864 1176x664 1280x720 1280x768 1280x800 1280x854 1280x960 1280x1024 1360x768 1365x768 1366x768 1400x1050 1440x900 1600x900 1600x1000 1600x1024 1600x1200 1680x1050 1768x992 1800x1440 1920x1080 1920x1200 1920x1440 2048x1280 2048x1536 2560x1600 3840x2400=1FFF;"

Also, if you want to integrate the old control panel setting into the modded inf, comment out these existing lines

I have a laptop Amilo M3438G with a Geforce 6800 go, and I tried to play Unreal Tournament GOTY. The game should have worked fine because is an old game, but incredibly the game was extremely slow with D3D or OpenGL renders :) !

I noticed that the graphic card don?t work at full speed when this game is playing, very strange :) ... Could this be a driver related problem? All other recent games work fine.

I?m using this ForceWare 169.04 drivers and I tried other recent ForceWare drivers, all with the same problem :P .

I'm having problems with my desktop and in-game refresh rate. Both are set at 60 mHz but apparently, it's actually at 52.......... Anway to fix this or am I going to have to down-date.........

The second monitor resolution issue has been a problem for a while on any of the 16X.XX drivers. I found that it only happens when connecting the monitor via DVI. If you can connect via VGA the issue will go away. I had seen a fix for it but it did not work in the end for my system. So my suggestion is either use the 156/157 drivers for laptops or use the 169 with a vga cable.

see thats interesting, because im using an HDMI/DVI cable (on an hp that has an hdmi out) and i haven't had any problems with second monitor up to 163.71. However, anything after that doesn't seem to be working. Would be nice if I can get some of my stuff working better tho.
