zipper
I'm still missing the CP but this driver is really the fastest so far on 3DMark06 and Vantage, so let's continue to use it. Always can use nHancer to change settings...
Covert
I benched the drivers, see the chart here: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=19567 best one's yet! :)
Guest Guest
If you use the modded .inf file from 177.66 where the CP was still accessible, will this driver version also have the CP available??
ByronGman
These are the first drivers in a long time that haven't pushed 100C temps on my machine when gaming... Performance seems good... haven't crashed yet but theres always still time for that ... X-/
davehsia
This might sound Crazy... but after installing this new driver, after playing Crysis for about 30-40mins, the power adaptor would Shut Off........ The light on the adaptor would shut off and i would need to unplug it and wait a little while before plugging it back in again for the power to go back up again. running stock no tweak, no OC, just with this driver on a fresh OS and the driver
Kaaji1359
Ever since I installed this driver I get this annoying error at startup that says: "RunDLL" and the error says: "Error Loading C:\Windows\system32\nvhotkey.dll The specified module could not be found." Anyone know why and/or how to fix this? Other than that, great driver!
Covert
nvhotkey.dll must not have installed properly. Restart your computer, run driver sweeper, and reinstall the drivers. Also I'm getting this annoying slow-down when scrolling, there is MEGA-DELAY sometimes it's responsive, sometimes it's not. Really annoying me. mobilenvidia
Got the CP back by installing with 177.73 original INF - which supports my card - edited the version and date in the INF. 177.73 has this: [nv.CoInstaller]nvcod.dll,,,0x00004000 nvcod132.dll,nvcod.dll,,0x00004000 177.79 has this: [nv.CoInstaller]nvcod.dll,,,0x00004000 nvcod133.dll,nvcod.dll,,0x00004000 nvcodh.dll,nvcod.dll,,0x00004000 nvcodhins.dll,nvcod.dll,,0x00004000 Are you able to do me a big favour and mod the modded INF to make 177.79 look like this: [nv.CoInstaller]nvcod.dll,,,0x00004000 nvcod133.dll,nvcod.dll,,0x00004000 If you could reinstall with the above mod and see what happens. Of course should it fix your problems not sure how I'm going to implement a fix :) Just wondering if the other files are stopping your CP from working. Mushu
I installed this v177.79 driver onto my Windows Vista: Home Premium with Pieter's modded INF (the one included), it worked fine. I have the control panel, everything seems to work fine. :) The modded inf for this driver seems to work great. I'm actually using it in conjunction with WhiteTiger's modded INF (version/date has been changed), if that's safe. Covert
Same here, there's a lag in scrolling, foobar visu... Revert to official Dell drivers and all is OK I found that if you give the computer a good 5 minutes to load and stop loading from the hard drive scrolling works fine again :) Not switching back because these are great in all my games, just waiting for some new drivers that will fix this! Guest Guest
Every driver since 177.41 has lagged halo 2 on my 8400m gs, why is it doing this? I dont want to stick with 177.41 anymore.
Covert
I figured out why! these drivers are massively hampering things because they do some major powermizer crap when you get above a certain temperature. follow this tutorial: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=261929 It fixed all my aero lag problems and games are more responsive. AaB-ern
I have a problem. First, I seem to have a lot of drivers on my laptop for my GFX-card. More precisely 5. 4 of those is called the name of my card (NVIDIA GeForce 8600 M GT) followed by Version: 7.15.11.XXXX and then a date: [DD-MM-YYYY] XXXX is different from driver to driver. These are the 4 different types: 5663, 5669, 7766 and 7779 (Apparently it is registered, but I don't think it is working at the moment, look at 2nd question). After those 4 drivers, theres one called "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter". My first question is: Is that normal? Next question: I've tried applying this driver to all of the drivers listed above using this guide. But I get a message telling that Windows did find driver software for the device, but it wasn't installed because a file is missing. I installed the 177.66 driver without problems some time ago. Has anybody got an idea about this problem?
