They still dont allow refresh rates above 30Hz@1080p. It wont even allow me to force it as a Custom(which I had never tried, I just find a driver that properly supports 1080p 60hz)

This has been my only real issue with any official Acer release.

hi! I downloaded the modded .inf for 177.92, deleted old drivers, rebooted in the safe mode, then cleaned registry with Driver Sweeper. After that i tried to install 177.92 (vista 32 bit) with the original .inf, then i replaced it with the modded .inf, but the installer always writes, that there's no compatible hardware, or smth like that. My lap: acer 9920g, 8600 m gt 512 mb, vista 32 bit (russian).

First i began the installer and it extracted files in the directory. After that I replaced the original .inf in this directory with the modded one..

I did actually like you said, placed the modded .inf in the directory firstly. Now the installation process starts, but finishes after a few seconds and it says that the system has not been modified..:-( maybe the reason is in language? My vista is russian, the driver is english

Try uninstalling your current drivers, reboot to safe mode and install the new driver...

Thanks for advice) the problem was solved with installing 177.98 using modded .inf even without uninstalling old rivers.

Sorry if already said but :

I've got a Aspire 8930g, graphic card : nvidia GeForce 9600M GT TurboCache.

Problem is : with lastest drivers, BluRay doesn't work because of no H.264 acceleration feature (BD Advisor).

Just want to know if THIS forceware ( 176.37 ) is fully BluRay compatible.

If you've used a driver with the modded inf files here, then your BluRay won't work because it breaks WHQL certification needed for BluRay playback. I don't know if there is a way around this yet, but mine got so borked one time that I had to reinstall Windows altogether. What you want are WHQL certified drivers (which these are), and if you use a WHQL one that doesn't support your card, then use the Have Disk method.

With these ones, you should have noproblems anyway since it's from Acer.

The problem is my actual forceware, which is 174.90, (maybe a bit old as I´m seeing at the forum). All i want is to update the driver, but I´m quite a newbie for these computer stuff. I wish to know what would be the best driver for my computer (I want it to run games basically, not for video editors, or that kind of programs...), and it seems that here´s the place to ask. Is the v176.37 the best choice?

I´ve already updated to 176.37, and the computer runs worst than the oldest! :) Does anybody know why?

:) I've never had any problems updating with the original .inf or modified one in Vista-32. All the files get updated without having to uninstall first and I always confirm this by checking the driver-properties in device-manager afterwards. I simply extract the driver, replace the .inf (only if my card isn't supported) and then install by using the "update driver" option for the video-card in device-manager. I've noticed that if you try to uninstall the previous ones and use a cleaner as well, it often deletes too much and the next drivers won't install because they aren't recognized as being valid. This isn't the case with my WinXP Desktop, which I always clean first (mainly out of habit), but I don't do it with the Vista Laptop because the update seems a lot smarter and hasn't had any mixed drivers yet...

By the way, there seems to be a new "Fujitsu Siemens" 176.48 Driver out which reportedly doesn't throttle the system as much as other Vista-32 versions have... Earlier drivers from Fujitsu have worked fine on my HP Notebook so should be worth a go.
