Lenovo M700 Tiny PC experiences

Yup all recovered from Fires, life will never be the same again but good to be home

I've got my highly modified BIOS M700 with i3-9100T in bedroom just for watching streaming TV and movies on NAS
8GB is plenty for this
I've not really had more in this as not got DIMMs over 4GB

I've got a Dell 7070 Micro (or is it Mini) with 9600T, this has 16GB of RAM and way more than it needs
This does the 4K viewing and audio out to my DAC in lounge

My laptop i7-9850H with 32GB uses 7.2GB just booting up and writing this (Win 11)
Keep this in mind

But if using it for computing vs video/audio 16GB should be your starting point

Hi everyone,

I'd like to install a i5 7500T in my ThinkCentre M900 Tiny (i5 6500T).
Before I proceed doing so,

1. Do I need a Bios Mod to get it working ?
2. Could someone let me know the process if I need a bios mod to get the 7500T working ? I'm a bit confused with the process.
3. Do I need a programmer for this ?
4. Can I use the files linked in this forum (OP) for m900 without going through the modding process myself ?

I do believe yes to all your questions
BUT
You also need to mod the pads on the CPU as its a  core CPU
I stuck with the 4core CPU so that process is not needed and not guaranteed to work

Hi, Thank you for you response.

I believe the i5 7500T is a 4Core 4Thread 35W CPU just like the i5 6500T. I'm upgrading from 6th gen to 7th gen just for 4k 10bit Transcoding that Kaby Lake Offers. Could you reconfirm if I still need a CPU Pad Mod ? Hope to hear from you soon.

You are correct, I was in 8500/9500 Land 🙂
You only need to do the intitial BIOS mod to get to KabLake
No need to run CoffeeTime (added 8000/9000 support)

BUT GET an EPROM programmer, don't rely on BIOS update Apps
AND BACKUP your original BIOS so you can get back
EPROM programmer you can pretty well do anything and get back
I've done all sorts of trials (to see what I could and couldn't do and always got back, often with anxiety)

Good luck and welcome to 4k HEVC decoding
