Guest digital_toad
Just tried the Far Cry demo out. I've got the weird fog effect also. I'm going to try some other drivers and see what I get for results. Be aware this "fog" effect seems to be in place using the 62.20 drivers. ggtronic
thanks for result with farcry digital i have try 61.71 and same issue . with dell 4581 , everything fine
Guest digital_toad
Think I found the culprit with the far cry bug. The new patch supposedly fixes "Fog bug with Nvidia drivers"........I only have the demo, so I cannot test to see if this is true..... christian
eyh digital toad :) I have the same specs as you on my computer, except that its a 1.5ghz but with doom 3 I get a blue screen with pieters inf's, i've tried all the latest ones, rolled back to A03 Bios and installed 61.76, 61.77, 62.20 .. I've also set the fan to hardcore vent and installed that speedwitch and set it to dynamic switching on power and max cpu on battery. And I still get the blue screen with the watchdog file listed earlier in this thread.. I have not modded the autoexec at all, now have you had any problems with a blue screen at all? And did you modifiy the autoexec before testing the drivers at all? I would really appreciate it if you would answer these questions as you seem to be the Doom 3 guru around here :)
Guest digital_toad
I did modify my autoexec before using the new inf's and drivers. Using the old drivers I wasn't able to get acceptable performance, maybe in the mid 20fps at times if there was no character models on screen. Also, did you update the bios on the video card and the system bios. I did both before even attempting the new infs and drivers. Also if you would like to look at my modified config, give me a shout. christian
Yea, that would be great dude.. I've updated all my drivers to the last, the bios is A09 and these drivers which are the last ones on the dell page: Video: nVidia GeForce FX Go5650, Windows XP, English, Inspiron 8600, v.4.31.20.52.C1, A02 - Dated: 18/11/2003 Thanks again :)

oVan
Just a silly question about Doom3: Is there a trial version available yet? If not, are you all running legal versions? ;-) If so, where to find it, it's not on id's page. Btw, I'm not fishing for illegal downloads. Thanks oVan

Guest digital_toad
Ok I'm posting this again with a few more tweaks that should squeeze a few more fps out without sacrificing much image quality.
