Do they use a different parameter set for each version?
Jeroen
for which sony laptop did you find these drivers ? At the moment 84.73 is the latest available for mine (VAIO FE)... did you search their sites, or do you have an ftp or something ?
mobilenvidia
Jeroen I trawl the FTP These came from the LA1 directory if this helps any. Fabrice, all those 7400's are for each model with a different PCI_ID Subsys number. So each different Sony model can have a different install. Have a look in the begiining of the INF and how each 7400 is handled differently.

I just have a hardtime understanding the reasons underneath this behaviour. They leave the door open to problem solving for each of their exotic implementation of TurboCache. Not really, as it allows each machine to have it's own setup. So if your Sony model comes with DVI out and your other 7400 based doesn't this way you can allow for it in the install process. Fabrice Roux
*mental note: not all the 2006 laptop have DVI* :) I forgot that these "features" are activated at the INF file level.
stanley_goodspeed
Ok i'm having problems with my battlefield 2 crashing, i have tried several drivers, nothing is helping, tried old and new, i read somewhere on here a post that said 84.94 works with no problems with bf2, however when i download 84.94 off of this site and install, the driver info under system and devices says that the current driver is 84.54 .... so now what to do? can anyone help? btw bf2 still crashes, seemingly even faster with this driver.... also my vid card specs are gforce 7400 go, 256, 128 turbo cache 2 gigs of ram T2300, duo Edited September 13, 2007 by stanley_goodspeed
®®®
You need to use the modded INF found in the first of this driver thread. If you have already used it, then i suspect you have a mixed/messed up driver installtion now. Only way to get rid of it, is uninstall and reinstall (and maybe use a DriverCleaner). Post a NERD logfile and we all know better...
stanley_goodspeed
as you can also see... there is no link for a modded INF but i did notice under display drivers in the log file that it had 3 driver nodes? is that normal? how can i get rid of them? ®®®
According to the NERD log v84.94 is not installed (WindowsUpdate keeps replacing it?). The driver nodes show which drivers were recently installed supporting your specific DEV_ID / SUBSYS_ID. As this driver is pretty old and has no modded, i suggest you use 156.55 which is the latest driver natively supporting your GPU (there are only 2 more recent drivers namely 163.44 and 163.67, but they don't natively support your card and you would need to use Pieter's INF) http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=14838
