I gave the newer ones a try and they worked perfectly, I even get the same Realtek Console that got pulled out from the Windows Store on its own. No DSPs sadly. No difference that I could find in the Realtek Console, but hey, they worked. I used both to uninstall the original ones, went via the control panel and then used DriveStore Explorer to delete old drivers. After a reboot I installed the news ones, reboot again and that's it. I wonder why they don't provide them for models that are compatible too, I haven't tried the ones you mentioned for the A715-75G, but the ones for that EN714-51W did work (even if the installation seemed to be a script instead of a proper setup utility). If they work, shouldn't they appear too if I searched for my laptop? And I'm sure audio drivers aren't the only thing outdated here... but this ones were giving me trouble. The latency issue is still there, I think it is related to the system going into sleep mode (the audio system I mean) and waking up takes a while, enough to cause a noticeable delay on the new sound. But I'll try to leave a message in the Acer community and see what's up. By the way, are UAD better or should I wait for an HDA release that supports my card? PS. How did you find them by the way, I'd like not to bother you anymore when they make new ones available for some model.

How did you find them by the way, I'd like not to bother you anymore when they make new ones available for some model. I guess your latency problem is related to a power management problem (maybe try disabling "fast startup" - google search on how to do that) and may be temporarily resolved by a reboot/restart. As I said before, post about your latency problems on the Acer Community forums and continue that discussion there instead of here. I found the 8931 & 8904 UAD drivers listed on Acer's support site - just look up those specific models like A715-75G on their site and expand the driver downloads section. your Acer A515-54G laptop came "pre-installed" with Realtek UAD/DCH drivers and you should use those and not the "older" HDA FFxx drivers (meaning, stick to using UAD/DCH drivers). Acer mostly issues new Realtek UAD driver version for newer laptop models and mostly don't list them for older models like your A515-54G. edit - I recently found this v6.0.8942.1 Realtek UAD Acer driver that also includes compatible HDXSSTACERNB.inf & HDX_AcerExt_RTK.inf files. updated Intel HDA SST bus driver for Realtek (SST) based HD audio devices also included. and you can also download & install the Realtek Audio Console v1.11.217.0 uwp app directly from Acer's web site as well for the 8942 UAD driver. btw, the 8699 UAD Acer driver is only good for Win10 versions v1903 & v1909 but for v2004 & greater you need a UAD driver in the 8900s like either 8904, 8931 or 8942 as they add or improve compatibility with newer Win10 releases. SST = smart sound technology from Intel ------ unrelated note - for those using other PCs that came with standard Realtek HDA (non-UAD/non-DCH) drivers: v6.0.8940.1 HDA FF00 "generic" (non-UAD) X64 from MS Update (147.3mb cab download) - posted 7/27/2020

Thank you!! Those seem to work fine too and while there is no change in the Realtek Audio Console in the sense that something new has been added the part about Acer's True Harmony is perfectly aligned when at 100% DPI (this laptop defaults to 125%). The only thing that has me oddly confused is the SST stuff. I was researching a bit on it because those new drivers (8942.1) ship with SST 10.24 and are newer than the previous 10.25 I had before. From what I could gather, I understand the .23, .24, .25 etc refer to the system you have. .24 being for Ice Lake systems and .25 being for Comet Lake. Mine is a Comet Lake based system but it was one of the late models of the A515-54 line, most of that line have Whiskey Lake processors. The original driver has SST drivers being 10.23 (.23 then being for Whiskey Lake?). I wonder if I should stick to using the Intel SST drivers from the 10.25 line instead then, or maybe it's just numbering and whatever difference is imperceptible. Again, thanks for your wisdom on the matter, I am running 2004 and I was using the stock provided drivers until now, so not ideal.

Maybe it is because I set Windows to use its dark theme in Windows and Apps? I don't get an Acer logo so many customized stuff, I wonder why they don't just go for consistency. Yep, just checked, the light vs dark appearance is linked to the one of Windows apparently.

Device hardware ID: INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0257&SUBSYS_17AA3806 oh yes - at least just for S340-15IWL - the 9008 UAD Lenovo driver should work there. HWID "INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0257&SUBSYS_17AA3806" listed in HDXLVSST.inf file for that other S340 ideapad you previously mentioned months ago (S340-15API), no edit - aww crap, 9008 is missing the other "extension" INF files for SUBSYS_17AA3806 so it will end up with a "partial" install and not a 100% complete install I feel like making an "unofficial" 9008 UAD Lenovo driver package that will add the missing INF files for 17AA3806 so that it can result in a complete install. I might have one up in a few days (ah, never mind what I said here - see my newest post instead)

erp-ster7n
6 hours ago, lucageo said: Great ! You are magic !! eh, avoid the 9008 uad lenovo driver as it would only install the 9008 driver component but NOT the Dolby + Forte SWC components. the dax3_ext_rtk.inf file for 9008 is missing support for ID "17AA3806" (that ID is not listed) so Dolby does NOT get installed - thus a "botched" or "partial" install use this v6.0.8975.1 UAD Lenovo driver instead, which has not only the compatible HDXLVSST.inf file for "17AA3806", but also the HDX_LenovoExt_DOLBY_FORTE.inf (that specific INF file is not included in v9008.1 and has the HDX_LenovoExt_DOLBY_FORTE_KD.inf file instead) and the dax3_ext_rtk.inf file that DOES list the HWID "INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0257&SUBSYS_17AA3806" on there AND the INTELAUDIO_DEV_0257_SUBSYS_17AA3806_PCI_SUBSYS_381617AA.xml preset file is included for v8975, and will result in a complete 100% installation (remember to reboot after driver installation)
