Dox
UPDATE 5 Managed to get hybrid graphics (for win7x64 ONLY) to work thanks to Nautis. confirmed to work with Asus UL30VT. Instructions are here: So detailed instructions: 1.) Run Dox Installer (195.62_Win7x64 1.1.exe) 2.) Wait for it to extract drivers to the desktop ("Win7x64" folder on desktop) 3.) Close Dox Installer (Sorry Dox) :) 4.) Extract Dox195.62_Fix_W7x64.exe to the "Win7x64" folder on desktop replacing the existing INF (You should now have a "x64_patch" folder inside the "Win7x64" folder to go along with the INF that was replaced) 5.) Open Device Manager and do a manual install. (On Vaio Z make sure the switch is set to Speed. You should only really need to update the Nvidia drivers as both should install at the same time.) 6.)Enjoy. (Don't forget to make sure testmode is enabled and sign the drivers.) download the patch here: CLICK ME UPDATE 4 for windows vista/win7 x86 and users who use hybrid graphics: download the attached file to this post (at the bottom) and put that extracted file into the Win7/Vistax86 folder after running the installer then click install. UPDATE 3 v 1.1 released v1.1 out: - fixed nvidia driver failing to install after running setup - added support for GTS250m - somes fixes to the supported device database UPDATE 2 I worked out why the nvidia setup.exe is not working after you click install. I shall release a version 1.1 which will: - Fix setup.exe issue - Minor fixes to the devices supported database - Hoping to fix brightness bug for affected gpus UPDATE Seems like people are getting issues with installtion. After clicking "Install" in my installer, it will bring up Nvidia's installer, if after running that and it says system has not been modified, you will have to go to device manager and install using have disk method. Guide is here: General comments Happy be-lated new year everyone. I decided to come back and have another quick go. Seeing as there a few people still using the dox optimised driver, it felt right to make a new release (just dont expect it very often :). Not much has changed since 185.85 in terms of tweaks, simply because nothing needs to be changed on that front. Done some improvements to the installer adding more options which would be useful. Hybrid SLI and Hybrid Graphics is back, I noticed some errors in 185.85 with not installing all the files, this time I'm hoping all is well. Supports all current new mobile gpus since I released 185.85 also. I separated the Vista and Windows 7 drivers into different packages to avoid confusion and easier bug tracking. It is VERY important you download and install the correct driver version for your OS, for example you can install the Vista version on Win 7 OS and Vice Versa but it is NOT RECOMMENDED!!! There are two new options in the installer to adjust mipmap and powermizer, if you do not know what to do just click the HELP button! Notes before installing Uninstall your previous driver before installing these!!!!!!! Desktop gpu support is removed Mobile Quadro gpu support is removed See supported cards to what cards will install Whats new since 185.85? - Added CARDS button on welcome page to see supported cards - Added HELP button in installer for the "System Config" and "Tweak and Install Page", click to see information on each option - Added Support for all latest mobile geforce gpus since 185.85 - Added option to configure powermizer before installing - Added option to adjust mipmap level of detail before installing Full Changes to drivers ADDED: + Mobile Geforce gpu support from 6-"GT300" series + Mobile hybrid sli driver functionality + Mobile hybrid graphics driver functionality + Latest Intel driver for hybrid graphics users + Support for all laptops/notebooks models + Extra resolutions missing from original set + Settings to ensure optimal performance REMOVED: - Desktop gpu support - PhysX software -see readme for more info - Helps files - Language files - Any useless files to reduce size - Unnecessary reg entries made by Nvidia - Quadro files from installation OTHER: * Powermizer & MipMap options in installer * Optimised for Geforce cards only * Improved install/uninstall time * English language only in the Nvidia control panel Supported Cards MOBILE GPUS ONLY: NVIDIA.DEV_0244.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150" NVIDIA.DEV.0247.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100" NVIDIA.DEV_00C8.1 = Guest alexrose1uk
Thanks again for your work here Dox. If I get a chance I'll try these on my machine in the next few days, see if they reduce the slight stuttering that comes with the original 195.61s and my GTX280m SLI. Dox
cheers for the quick feedback guys, seems like there is a problem with the installing via nvidia's setup.exe As a workaround like install via device manager after running through ALL the install options. Guest Trader
Hi, I am using a Vaio Laptop VGN-S4XP Windows 7 Ultimate with GeForce Go 6200. Firstly thank you for these releases, much time and dedication is invested into these. Second I heard great raves about Docx drivers. This may be a stupid question so apologies but how can I use manual install given that the DocX is an executable/installer? (in other words I do not know how to extract the contents to perform manual "have disk" installation)? I appreciate your input. thx
Guest Trader
Guys, Thanks, I now discovered that files are extractewd onto the desktop. Segurito
Hey DoX nice to see you around! (with the driver's stuff ofc :)) I've been trying to install them in any posible way but no success... As you said recently, with the installer doesn't change anything, adding the subsys and everything to the .inf doesn't seems to help and with the device manager it says that I already have the latest version... any idea? Guest Eugene91
Hey Dox thanks for coming back! Loved ur 185.85! :) Anyways the 195.62 has brightness adjustments issues.. I guess its a common problem for 19X.XX series.. Nvidia done really bad for their 19X.XX series lol.. I have an Acer Aspire 6935G with Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT DDR2.. From this driver everybody new (185,20/185.68/185.85...?) with this bad Nvidia bug (powermizer bug ?). I hope Dox removed this.
