Guest NazcaUK
The problem with 88.61 installation on Vista Beta 2 is extremely annoying :) I keep getting the same Code 43 error but after searching the net it seems to be a problem restricted to the FS-Amilo 3438G. Has anyone got a solution for this yet? Is there anyway whatsoever to get this issue resolved Thanks
Guest Alakira
Does it matter if you install the Nvidia Drivers from Windows Update prior to trying to install these drivers? I'm in the same boat as a poster a few posts up, the drivers did not work and don't let windows boot up. (Goes to a blue screen with a memory dump error, then reboots)

Guest Guest
It's called 'aero' because of the sound you'll hear while using it. Just what I always wanted - my GPU fan running flat out 24/7 while it tries to dissipate 180 extra watts into my room just to render the OS. Guest Guest
I have also Fujitsu M3438G and I have the same issue (code 43 error). Is Nvidia aware of this issue ? Do they plan to support laptop GPU's that have this issue in the next driver release or later ? Concerning the code 43 error I have my idea about what is causing the issue. It appears that for the moment the beta drivers don't support specific hardware laptop GPU components or interfaces such as MXM technology for example. M3438G laptop has the MXM technology associated with the GPU and this is maybe why the drivers don't work.
Jedi_Vader20
Dell Latitude C810 with a GeForce2 GO here. Code 43 error, base install of Vista with these drivers (with modded INF found on front page of site) applied through the "Have Disk" method. Going to roll back to M$' default "Standard VGA Graphics Adaptor" that Vista detects upon install and try to install with the setup executable. EDIT 2: This is a problem alright. I got this when I rebooted after installing the driver: If I reboot, Windows switches to a fail-mode driver and gives me a code 43 error. Lovely. Guest Guest
I added this driver to replace the default VGA driver after a fresh install of Vista. Everything is working wonderfully, except, I can not dock my laptop and get the external to display. Is there anything in the inf that can be changed to affect this? System Specs. Dell Latitude D820 Centrino Duo T2500 2x2.0 ghz 2 GB Ram Nvidia Quadro NVS 120m Bios version 5.72.22.21.d2 Any assistance would be greatly appretiated
Guest Guest
hello, Can anyone tell me wich version of the driver works fine on FSC Amilo M3438G (maybe 87.15 ???) 88.61 give me an code 43 error :/ another stupid question : do you think it's possible to mix two different drivers (88.61 and a working one) in order to have the Control Panel?? Thanks.
Guest Guest
I don't think that any vista drivers work with FSC M3438G/M4438G. Windows update provides an adaptation of Win XP 72.50 driver for Vista. Because it's an adaptation of a Win XP driver there is no Aero support and moreover DirectX 9 is not supported (only DirectX 8.1). So for testing games that's not wonderful. Guest Guest
Hello, me again... (post #59) (yes i should register...) I did it!!! I have nvidia control panel on my FSC amilo M3438G!!!! driver version is 72.30 (the one found by windows update) what I have done: - fresh install of vista - install 88.61 -> code 43 error - use windows to find new driver - install 72.30 found by windows -> work fine but impossibla to have better resolution than 1024*768 - reinstall 88.61 -> code 43 again - uninstall driver - install 87.15 -> it says that installation failed and ask to reboot - at reboot resolution was 1440*900 (max resolution for this computer), driver version is back to 72.30, nvidia control panel is available!!!! I don't understand what is happening but maybe this can help to find a way to do 88.61 drivers work properly!! bye
inge06
ok, now i'm registered! i hope someone can find a solution to our problem on M3438G!
Guest Guest
@ post 61 you forgot the most important thing, does the aero skin work now?
Guest Metal2001
Hello, I've installed Vista on my FSC but i cannot install the 88.61, when I try I got an error message "he program was unable to detect the hardware for this driver" or something like that Why? Guest Metal2001
Now I use the drivers found by windows update My version of Vista is the Beta 2 Build 5384
Guest Guest
That's me again (post 56 and 60). Yes I should register too but don't have the time for the moment. Reference to post 61 : You complicate your life. I installed Vista on my M3438G, run Windows Update to get the only driver that works with Vista (72.30 or 50 I don't remember), rebooted and directly had 1440*900 resolution. To display the control panel : right click on the desktop, click in the menu on Nvidia display -> Laptop screen or something like that. It displays the control panel. But if you check the directX version on the main page of the control panel : DirectX 8.1. Very bad. Moreover : NO AERO. Very very bad :)
inge06
Your probably right because my manipulation is quite complicated, but after installing 72.30 It was impossible to change resolution!! And the nvidia control panel is only available in driver 88.61. So you need to install it.... to Metal2001: you need the modded inf to install this driver on FSC
Guest Metal2001
I tried with the modded inf of 88.61 but I got an error message that says that my OS is not Windows Vista
Guest Guest
To inge06 : I have the control panel with 72.30 drivers, like I said in my precedent post. I don't need to install other drivers. They fail to install anyway. Strike
Guest Guest
To Metal2001 : You can install any WinXP modded driver on Vista by using inf install method. First extract all the driver content in a folder, put the modded inf in the folder, go to device manager, select your GPU, click update driver, select option to specify a path, give the path of the modded inf and that's it. The drivers install fine (you will even have access to the control panel) but only problem : Vista's DirectX doesn't completely recognize the drivers and they may cause a crash of the system when you launch a DirectX application. Moreover, no aero support because WinXP drivers are not LDDM drivers. Strike
Guest zen
awesome, thanks for all your help in this forum guys! my toshiba M60 has all the aeroglass going, and things are looking sweet. question: has anyone gotten configfree to work, etc? is there a more specific forum spot already with that discussion going? cheers, -zen
Guest Guest
My problem that I have encountered is I'll install the v88.61 Vista drivers, restart... and everything is great. But... its when I restart again or shutdown my computer is when I have problems. Vista loads (can here the welcome noise)... but my screen will stays black for unknown reasons. Quite annoying... so I had to revert to those crappy 78.10 drivers until something about my problem is solved.
