I had a similar problem with my 8800MGTX when it was first out.

It would only go to 375/400 clocks when i was using any other driver other than my stock ones that came with my laptop (167.43).

It was solved by me updating my motherboard bios.

You should contact your manufacturer to see if they can send you any updated bios for your motherboard or card.

When someone with a Timeshift problem actually states a driver they have had it working with on their laptop, then it might be worth considering as something to do with DOX's versions. Otherwise I have now seen the masses of people with video problems with this game in the Timeshift forums , and I suggest you try what they recommend or post there instead.

This is not a support thread for any game you can't get working, it is only for feedback and issues associated with this particular driver.

If you don't provide enough information, it will be expected it is your problem and not the drivers.

It might have something to do with the resolutions, in Dox's drivers are resolution that are commonly used, not all of them like in original modified driver, so if someone played a game in a certain resolution which isn't by default on the list in Dox's, then the game wouldn't start cus it cannot execute that resolution. So, adding a custom resolution, in which you remember you played your game, to the list, should be the solution to the problem.

But, the game should set the resolution to the minimum, or something like that, if it can't load, so this solution is a bit farfetched.

Hi,

I've just updated from your optimized 180.43 to this version.

While 180.43 was running fine, 180.70 somehow won't use the Powermizer.

My graphics card runs at 600 / 800 all the time (in Vista / games / ...) => it doesn't clock down anymore when there's no game running.

I tried disabling the Powermizer using the Powermizer switch and then reenabling it (reboot after every change) but to no avail.

Any clues what might cause this?

My system:

Core 2 Duo

4 GB Ram (only 3.25 GB usable)

7900 GSX

Vista Home Premium x64

//EDIT: I messed around with the PM switch and it works now... Still wondering why it didn't work in the beginning...

That would be the case if people can't start Timeshift also when using yours 178.24, cus as for now I've seen people sayin that the case is when using yours 180.xx. I believe you didn't change much resolutions in your releases, and I experienced the same case when I first started using 178.24 in some games, cus you didn't put 1280x800 in which i play most :) . I say some games, cus it depends on the game, for example in Gothic 3 if it couldn't load it would put the res to the default one, but in Oblivion it would crash, and crash, and crash... Can't say for Timeshift, cus I don't have it.

IT would be good if someone would try it on yours 178.24, cus if you haven't changed resolutions - then we have a solution - if not, well...we don't :) and it's something wrong in 180.xx releases...

Ok, to those that it may concern

I dont mean to sound grumpy and do not take this the wrong way

I've had like 5 pms the today (and many in the past) with the same thing, and it has to stop:

DO NOT PM/ask me asking me to fix specific problems you are facing

DO NOT PM/ask me to make a new driver to fix that specific problems just for you only

DO NOT ask me to look at an inf file from you manufacturer driver to find out whether i can fix that problem.

I make these in my spare time, whenever and on whatever driver i feel like.

I am not a company/tech support person where you can just ask and expect me to jump and and release new ones just to fix some specific problem that you have.

If i did I would charge a fee for my time and make an ok living out of it it seems, I do these for FREE and it will always be FREE so stop asking me to make specific driver for you!

I dont know everything so its better if you post a question in the support forum where MANY MORE PEOPLE ARE LIKELY TO ANSWER AND HELP YOU.

If you do post a question or bug report, BE SPECIFIC.

Not just it doesn work with xxx games.

Help me out a little by posting what OS, gpu, whether the original driver worked fine before,

Basically include the details to help me and others help you.

If for whatever reason my driver doesnt work well for you then use another driver :)

About TimeShift i've already use WIN XP Pro SP3 32 bit, and upgraded the lastest direct x (nov.08)

but, timeshift stiil can't be played and without any error masages. i've already try all dox 180.xx drivers, but stiil can't help.

after reinstall normal driver, all worked perfectly, and as i mentioned above, i like dox driver because the sharper image and less stuttering in some games, so games run more smoothly than normal driver.

I just hope the Dox drivers can working in all games from older to newer and in all OS from XP to Vista, WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS
