erp-ster7n
There is no difference between the zip and exe version. It seems the driver installation fails with this driver. Anyone with the same problem? Can be solved with a inf modification though. it looks like stupid Intel packaged the WRONG INF file when downloading the 64bit ZIP version (they put the kit45406.inf file instead of the igdlh64.inf file). the two EXE downloads I mentioned have the correct INF files (igdlh.inf and igdlh64.inf). using an anonymous account here. I can install the ones you posted mik however the digital signature will be missing because of the .inf modification. erp-ster7n links are more convinient cause no inf modifications are neccesary. I used the 2761 exe 64bit download and I have the correct INF file that doesn't have missing digital signatures. see attached picture below. mik
Yes the exe version is fully functional with the default inf. This should not happen, zip and exe should be the same. That's Intels fault.
erp-ster7n
Yes the exe version is fully functional with the default inf. This should not happen, zip and exe should be the same. That's Intels fault. yup mik, definitely intel's fault. time for me to take action and write a complaint to intel about this. they need to fix this egregious mistake with the 2761 64bit zip download or face the wrath of some angry customers using this flawed 64bit zip download. in the meantime, 64bit Win7 users should use the 64bit EXE 2761 download and avoid using the 64bit ZIP download until Intel uploads a new one with the proper igdlh64.inf file. erp-ster7n
Welcome back erp-ster7n. Are those links for 8.15.10.2761 fixed in terms of device compatibility, meaning no more .inf fiddling required? Still can't believe how Intel could've let that slip by. these new v8.15.10.2761 EXE downloads are good to use, tribaljet. no INF modding required as they have the correct INF files (igdlh.inf & igdlh64.inf), unlike that faulty 64bit v8.15.10.2761 ZIP download, which Intel has not yet resolved and has that oem inf file and not the igdlh64.inf file. It's the same ftp folder or file I linked which worked from day one. In the meantime the dell support page link is not broken anymore. yup. dell seem to have fixed that link a few days ago and have listed the 8.15.10.2778 download as an "Urgent" download. I guess that one resolves critical problems with the onboard Intel HD Graphics hardware on that Dell XPS14-L421X laptop. Sony has released the A2DVID-00269144-1040.EXE file near the end of June [257Mb in size], which contains v8.862.4.4000 of the AMD Radeon™ HD 6470 / 6630M Driver and v8.15.10.2769 of the Intel® HD Graphics 3000 Driver [for Win7 64bit edition]. I just installed that driver on my Lenovo H330 (windows 7 ultimate 64bit installed). Running fine here. Graphics upped from 5.0 > 5.3 but gaming graphics downgraded from 5.8 to 5.6. Not really much though as i can't really any differences since this is just a budget desktop. *using an anonymous account again* Edited July 13, 2012 by bugmenot
mik
The driver should run fine, no doubt. Readme says This driver has been tested with Windows 8 Release Preview OS Build 8400. This driver also supports Windows 7*, but users are recommended to use the latest version of drivers available for Win7 at downloadcenter.intel.com. It's not fully tested/validated on Windows 7 yet. Some games run faster, some slower.
