Intel GMA Drivers

I seems Intel has replaced 2712 drivers with a new version of 2696.

... Not sure if they are entirely new, but I think they have pushed them to solve the not-updating-MediaSDK bug in the 2712.

These "new" .2696 drivers are the same as those posted end of April (see post 104).

From the readme.txt:

...
 Driver Revision: 15.26.8.64.2696

 March 23, 2012

From the igdlh64.inf:

DriverVer=03/19/2012, 8.15.10.2696

Andi

8.15.10.2761 released here: http://www.fmworld.n...ER_NUM=E1014617

inf modification might be necessary in order to install it through the setup.exe

Driver build date: 21st May 2012 (DriverVer=05/21/2012, 8.15.10.2761)

Just found this quite interesing post on Intel's forums during googling: "HD Graphics 4000 driver comparison".

The guy there compared performance of various Intel HD graphics drivers:

  • 8.15.10.2696
  • 9.17.10.2729 (Beta)
  • 8.15.10.2752
  • 9.17.10.2747 (Beta)
  • 8.15.10.2761

using Cinebench and a selection of games.

Best regards,

Andi

I take it yup comes here to get the drivers, seems odd yesterday I grab 2747, you 2761 and he's just updated his list.

Performance is all over the place, must have taken ages to compile hats off to him for that.

That's from me. Keep in mind results can differ on a HD3000. For example OpenGL with the 9.17.10 Beta drivers worked way better on a HD4000 than HD3000. Doom3 runs faster while on HD3000 I lost performance or Cinebench 11.5 didn't run. However, it's a bit too early to expect big jumps through a bigger list of games. I hope in three months or so HD4000 will see bigger gains. Some games improved though.

No it did not take that long for me. Results are pretty consistent. It's the driver. I did three runs for most games. 2696 suffered from low clock issues in some games like Half-Life 2 and Far Cry, therefore it was much slower there. Minor differences of 0,1-0,3 fps is mostly the typical measuring inaccuracy of course.

only version of the graphics drivers the guy from the intel forums did not test is verison 9.17.10.2736 from MS Update Catalog.

For convenience, I post the direct download links (to MS Windows Update server) here.

Driver version: 8.15.10.2752

Build Date: 10th May 2012 (DriverVer=05/10/2012, 8.15.10.2752)

Download Link(s):

glad you posted the direct download links to the 2752 drivers, Andy. Microsoft has recently removed references to the Intel HD Graphics 8.15.10.2752 drivers at MS Update Catalog, making it look like they've pulled the drivers from there (darn it, MS!). lately, performing a search for them on the Microsoft Update Catalog site will turn up nothing. but the actual downloads remain available.

Didn't work for me, installation failed. But there is a newer 9.17.10 which I tested, so it's not needed.

same here, install of the 2736 drivers didn't work on my Windows 7 64bit computer. Looks like they're strictly for Windows 8.

and I assume the 2747 and 2753 drivers mobilenvidia mentioned are generic ones and that the INF files don't need to be modded. I'll pass on the 2761 kind and try out build 2753 since I don't like modding the INF file and breaking MS digital signatures.

2747 and 2753 are Win8 preview drivers from Toshiba.

They are really pushing the Win8 drivers out.

Good to see that they aim to be ready for when its released, and not just hang on for a release and hope for the best as other OEMs seem to be doing.

I wouldn't call this a Win 8 Preview driver, it's a (generic) Beta driver from the new 15.28 driver stack which supports both Win 7 and 8 according to the Readme. Once it's final I expect 15.28 officially released for Win 7. This driver stack supports OpenGL 4.0 for the HD4000. It's nice to see so many new drivers the last couple of days and weeks. Toshiba is a good source it seems.

A leaked 8.15.10.2770 driver build in a switchable graphics package is leaked here: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=364400

It works with a inf modification. My inf mod is maybe not the best, so if someone could tweak this for everyone this would be nice.

not there at all on guru3d site - epic fail. either edit that post and remove all those comments or use the Delete button to remove that post.

Why I should? What's your problem with guru3d? If possible, I always link to the original source.

8.15.10.2761 released here: http://www.fmworld.n...ER_NUM=E1014617

inf modification might be necessary in order to install it through the setup.exe

alternate download link of the Intel HD Graphics v8.15.10.2761 64bit drivers posted here (by a forum user from Station-drivers).

this one doesn't require editing the kit45406.inf file because it was modded already. but Win7 users must click "Install this driver software anyway" when Windows 7 says that it can't verify the publisher of the driver software during installation for the drivers to install.

and Andi, the 64bit download of the 9.17.10.2770 drivers are up now along with the 64bit release notes (at least it's working in my area).

they normally install under Win8 only and not under Win7, unless the igdlh64.inf file is edited to install under Win7 OSes.

There is no difference between the zip and exe version.

It seems the driver installation fails with this driver. Anyone with the same problem? Can be solved with a inf modification though.
