Guest alex
Hey, im new here but own a MSI GX600P, specs:T7250 2.0Ghz 2Mb Cache 800Mhz FBS 2x 1Gb ram 533/667Mhz (not sure) Nvidia Geforce 8600m GT 512Mb DDR2 (171.16 Driver) 250Gb 5400rpm Hard-Disk There is a turbo option on my notebook that gives a 20% increase on: processor 2.4ghz, fbs to 950mhz. I also overclocked my videocard, its an 8600m gt 512mb ddr2 memory by MSI. Stock values are: core: 475mz, and memory: 400mhz (ddr2 = 800mhz) I overclocked it to the following: core:756Mhz and memory:486Mhz (ddr = 972mhz) Faster than 8700m gt Standard my notebook gets 3800 points in 3dmark06, but now i get 5588 points in 3dmark06.(1024x768) WhAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT????????? :) from 475 to 756??? Woow, i have the same card and the same cpu, but i would not mind to go over 600mhz core speed!! I have to try this! :)

stolpiller
Any ideas why some drivers set vsync to 50 FPS, and some to 60 FPS (using fraps)? Yes it's a LCD display, running at 60Hz :)
kEiNsTeiN
hello. for some reason, after using rivatuner (and driver updates, cannot really pinpoint it), windows tells me I have a geforce 8400 gs!!! WTF??? at one time, rivatuner even listed both the 8400 gs AND the 8600m gt!! now I forced the 8600m gt driver (173.65, same prob with 171.16)) (force=vista said it's incompatible), but properties of the graphic-card still say chiptype: 8400... everest also says this, except with vista-vga installed, then it just prints a number for the nvidia chip (something weird, not 0407, sorry didnt write it down) ANY hints why this is so f***** up? edit: it was that option of rivatuner to force side-band-adressing and such, after clicking uninstall inside that dialogue, it worked again. weird though... Guest MvdBeld
I got the same acer apsire how do you use 1.9Gb readyboost? Cause the turbomemory is 1gb as far as I know?
Hoffa
To use ReadyBoost in Vista, insert any flash USB stick into the computer, and a message should normaly pop-up saying "Use ReadyBoost" or something like that, and then, you can chose how many bytes do you want to ReadyBoost. :) But i'm not so shure it actually boosts gaming performance, for some games it might, for others... Guest lokat
@Hoffa: in about a week i'll be getting the same laptop that you have but with a gig more memory and the cpu is the T8100 so before I attempt to oc my gpu I just have a couple questions. 1. Do you use any external cooling devices for your laptop? Or just the stock laptop itself? 2. What sort of temperature increases did you get for your "650/1300/482" setting and how reliable is it? 3. Last question, let's say your gpu settings are at the highest right now, what figures would be "medium"?

Guest Guest
I tried installing several new drivers, right now I'm using 171.16 but no matter what I try, I can't OC. Every time i set the clocks, next time I open the window it's been set back to default. Someone knows about this problem? Oh yeah and I'm using a 8400M GS, Vista Home Premium x86, Rivatuner 2.08, and yes I have set rivatuner to open with admin rights.
