Guest VibeBlast
Thanks I re-wrote the files and recieved the modded one with the correct hardware id. But when I uninstall the driver from the device manager and run the set up file I get an error saying that it is not the right one. Is there another way to install it? Guest VibeBlast
Thanks I re-wrote the files and recieved the modded one with the correct hardware id. But when I uninstall the driver from the device manager and run the set up file I get an error saying that it is not the right one. Is there another way to install it? By the way . . . I did search for the \Dell\drivers\R266088\. And then I just put in the extracted files there. I opened up the official one and then the modded one and dragged the modded one into the official folder to overwrite it. Then I modded the hardware id address by dragging in a modified file. then I took all of those and put it into the \Dell\drivers\R266088\ folder. I then uninstalled the sound driver and then tried reinstalling it using the set up file there. My sound works but I am still unable to get the microphone to work . . . Thank you again and I guess I have to wait for another update on that I guess.
HunterZ0
As selphie said earlier, VibeBlast, you need to download both official AND unofficial/modded v6277 packages - Dell's R266088 pack and then the modded v6277 drivers. Run R266088 to extract the files to \Dell\drivers\R266088\ folder and when its setup program starts up, cancel it. then extract the driver files from the "modded" 6277 package onto the \Dell\drivers\R266088\WDM\ folder and overwrite all the files, then you mave to edit the stwrt.ini and stwrt64.ini files, add your hardware id no onto them and point the hardware id/device id to use the WRT.INI file and save changes. mobilenvidia still has not yet re-packaged the v6277 drivers to include a setup file. not good. :P so you will have to install the modded 6277 drivers manually from Device Manager which makes things a little harder. :) the 6277 package should be at least 13Mb in size and not 5.2Mb in size. until mobilenvidia provides a revised v6277 driver pack, you'll have to do the above stuff, VibeBlast. btw - I finally got the v6277 drivers to work on the Dell Inspiron e1405 laptop; built-in laptop speakers, ok. stereo headphones, ok though the left & right audio was reversed meaning sounds that were supposed to come out of the left speaker came out on the right side of the headphones and vice-versa. nevertheless, I got sound on the laptop speakers and the headphones. Thanks, this helped, but I had to perform some additional modifications to the .INF files (not just the .INI files) to add my device ID and possibly references to WRT.INI. After doing everything you mentioned, plus what I mentioned, PLUS copying the pin info over from the INI from R171786 (the latest M1730 driver) as per the original post instructions...the driver installed via Setup.exe but gives me a Code 10 :) My device ID is HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7616&SUBSYS_102801F7&REV_1002 and I'm using Vista 32-bit on an XPS M1730. Anyone have any ideas? Edit: Also, am I not supposed to be downloading and using WRT.INI v1.008? It seems quite old, but it's the newest one with a working download link in the original post. Guest Artem
Tried on my Dell Latitude D630 with Windows 7 Ultimate. Only thing I had to do is to replace HW ID SUBSYS_102801F1 to SUBSYS_102801F9 in the ini and inf files. Driver was installed successfully, but I have 2 issues: * Speakers do not work, only earphones * Earphones in docking station do not work Any advice? Guest Nicola Janho
Where is DISK 1 and Setup.exe ?
erp-ster7n
Where is DISK 1 and Setup.exe ? for what IDT audio package, Nicola Janho? if it's unofficial IDT 6277 driver pack, setup.exe is missing. you'll have to use the one from the "official" package, meaning you'll have to copy the setup.exe file from the official one onto the unofficial modded 6277 drivers. that can be a bit more challenging. Guest jpsmithdc
Hi folks, I started checking through all the posts on the OEM and modded SigmaTel HD drivers, and I haven't really seen any chatter on Toshiba. I just upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, and the it correctly and automatically identified my audio device as the SigmaTel HD Audio Codec. I'm looking for a modded version with some extra features because on the Vista version of the driver I was previously using an audio mixer/equalizer was available and while the Dolby tab exists in the device settings, it is greyed out and unavailable to use. Here's the hardware ID: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7691&SUBSYS_117904F1&REV_1022 Anyone have advice on updating?
Guest Nade
Hi! Just a quick note from my side Got an Inspiron 1720 with this HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_76A0&SUBSYS_102801F2 device ( a Sigmatel STAC9205 ) Used Version 6.10.6263.0 from the first post for my card. Tried it first with pins and filter from original Dell driver -> did not work then I removed all information I entered, so that there were no pin or filter information, and just changed [HKR] CodecName = "STAC92xx" to [HKR] CodecName = "STAC9205" that worked; or at least it gave me sound. After a restart I fired up regedit to look what the setup added. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000\Settings\ there was a filter folder with the well known SpeakerHP, MicIn and so on, with only very basic settings (mostly just Associations and UniqueID ) When renaming SpeakerHP to Speaker, all the advanced options from the mod became active (and the sound changed significantly, from the well known normal sound to something more different... hard to describe); But all the options in the SRS ot Dolby panel were not changeable (they flipped back at once) I had a look at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IDT\APO\GFX\Speaker and especially the plugins folder. I compared it to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IDT\APO\GFX\SpeakerHP, which was autogenerated for my system. In the plugins folder there is a folder for every extension and every extension folder contains this (standard) entry which initially doesn't have an assigned value. In the autogenerated folder those (standard) keys HAVE a value - an empty one. So I double clicked every (standard) and just clicked ok -> the note that this key doesn't have a value disappeared for blank space. After a restart all changes made to SRS, etc. were permanent! Hope this helps for troubleshooting further problems!

Guest 6277
I believe you need to download both the official 6277 release as well as the modded 6277, then overwrite any existing files in the official release with the modded one. You can then run the Setup.exe from there. However the modded 6277 release is missing the WRT.ini file, which you can get from the the earlier modded 6263 release. Anyway the modded 6277 will work if managed properly, as I did with my Dell Inspiron 1520. Details in here: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/26741-nice-idt-modded-drivers-for-dell-inspiron-1520-for-win-7vista/ Not function in my Dell 9400. Excuse me all. todonormal
Hi mobilenvidia, fis6h and selphie. I have a problem with version Sigmatel / IDT Modded Drivers, Version 6.10.0.6277 DriverVer=04/07/2010,6.10.0.6277 Vista/Windows 7 x32/x64. I have Inspiron 9400, Windows 7 Profesional (32bits) and does not work: Remade 6277 Added latest versions of files from previous drivers, including SRS. Made some changes to the INF to allow for the above. Working rather nicely for me. ArdaMania
Hi, I have the sony's last SigmaTel Audio driver which is v6.10.5614.0 on that link. I am happy with that driver, after installation of that driver, I don't get the IDT control panel. I tried to use your driver but could get a nice result. There are 10 WRT INI files in the original driver, so I couldn't find out which one should I use to change pin settings in the modded ini file. I just wonder, what should I do to get a control panel with that driver and make that driver support 5.1? If it is possible, I prefer to add some settings to the original INI file... Thnaks

coolguy16
I used mobilenvidia's WRT.ini from the 6263 driver in HP's newest 6292 driver. I had included all the necessary files in the inf/ ini. As soon as the driver starts installing, I hear a click sound from the speaker, and I get a BSOD (strwt64.sys). Windows never loads after that (BSOD loop). I had to a startup repair (System restore). I am using a Vaio FZ and Windows 7 64-bit. Can anyone guess what might be the issue? The 6263 driver with the same modded ini/ inf works fine.
