Guest TigertheGambler
Hi folks, anyone has experience in overclocking LG S510 Perlo Notebook? That book comes with 9600M GT and 512 GDDR3 RAM. If that works, I do not have to buy an ASUS G50v, which comes with a 9700M GT here in Germany. I heard that the 9700M GT is just an overclocked 9600M GT by default.
Guest Guest
Hi Exile1975. I've seen you've oc your cpu form 2.2GHz @ 2.5GHz. How did you did it? zipper
At least 8700 chips do overclock about as much as 8600 chips meaning there is some difference - or are they just the best chips picked out. My quadro overclocks about the same as 8700s what I've seen - 20 to 25%. Probably the same situation with 9xxx chips.

Conclusion: Intel cpu's are better than amd's ones (at least for the 3dmark06 benchmark), don't you agree?

I have the same model but with different processor (mine's is P8400 @ 2.4 GHZ).... I only reached 625/900/1550 core/mem/shader and its not stable....... I keep getting black screen Current speed is 550/800/1375 which identical with 9650M GT....... any ideas how to reach your speed????

Maybe you could try updating drivers, cleaning that bullsh**t that it's on vista but I don't know if this is the answer. I guess that when you've got a gpu it's only luck if you can get a higher speed than the same one but in other laptop. Also tried with 700/1750/1000, but that turned into a black screen when tried to pass the 2nd graphics benchmar in 3dmark06, the lights into the forest. Anyway, your speed isn't too slow, but I think you could get at least 625/1600/900. That would be a nice oc. Ps: sorry for my English :)
melon
Well, I guess I just got a worse batch of GPU chip than yours. Anyway, thanks man.

THanks in advance to overclock ur gpu u need to download nvidia system tools 6.03 install it.. also download some good driver(e.g 185.20 dox) then open up the control panel after restart.. now go to performance drop down option in nvidia control panel and then device settings.. then select custom settings.. overclock the clocks as u see in the attached photo (this is the max... (if u have 9600gt ddr2) .. then press apply and u r ready to boom :)

boban984
hi all this is my first post here , after reading the guides for overclocking my gpu - 9600m gt 512MB DDR3 , i hasitated if u should do it mainly because i thought that i could melt the lappy :) I downloaded all the tools rivatuner,atitool,nibitor,nvidia_system_tools and so on .... My first try was with the nvidia control panel , i just took the core from 500 to 625 and shader from 1250 to 1550. 3DMARK06 points: default clocks = 5011 points / temp 70C ----- overclocked 6331 points / temp 73C I use the new drivers for mobile gpus from nvidia - 179.28_notebook_winxp_32bit_beta And 6.02_nvidia_system_tools which gave me the option for overclocking (there is newer version of the system tools 6.03) Playing Crysis warhead goes smoothly , temps go to about 85-87C. (in my opinion anything above 94-95 is dangerous) My laptop is MSI GX701. I only use these overcloced setting when i play Crysis, other games go smoothly without any need for overclocking. (COD WAW goes all max and fps 30 and above with no overclocking) Maybe ill try to get the clocks higer , but im happy with these settings infact i made my card from 9600m gt to 9700m gt :) Edited February 8, 2009 by boban984

biasquez
hi, i have acer 6930 944G32 with nvidia 9600M GT DDR3 512MB. when i play Crysis, i have gpu temp around 90°C (without overclock). i see that HP recently has published new bios that reduce temperature about 10°C. is it possible to flash my acer with this bios and set proper frequency or is there updated bios released by nvidia for all 9600m gt ddr3? thanks!
